TUCSON, Ariz. -- Tyler "Jonesy" Buescher (SR, Prior Lake, Minn.) went 6-for-7 at the plate with three runs scored, a double and two RBI, leading the Augsburg College baseball team in a split of a pair of one-run games against Salem State University at the Tucson Invitational on Thursday, winning 5-4 and losing 6-5.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
• Trailing 4-1 after five innings, Salem State scored three runs in the top of the sixth inning, but the Auggies took the lead back with a run in the bottom of the sixth.

Clayton Bodine (SO, Plymouth, Minn./Wayzata HS) led off the sixth with a single, moved to third on a sacrifice bunt and a passed ball, and scored on a sacrifice fly by
Walker Rogers (FY, Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Simley HS). Reliever
Dayton Danielson (FY, St. Charles, Minn.) then pitched a scoreless bottom of the seventh to pick up his second save of the season.
• In the first inning, Buescher and
Rhett Hebig (SR, Apple Valley, Minn./Eastview HS) opened the game with singles, and Buescher scored on a sacrifice fly by
Josh Marlowe (SR, North St. Paul, Minn.).

Jordan DeCroock (JR, Farmington, Minn.) singled, stole second and moved to third on a wild pitch in the fifth inning, then scored on a Buescher RBI single. Buescher and Hebig singled, Buescher scored on a single by Marlowe, and Hebig scored on a fielder's choice by
Jack Duffy (SR, Fridley, Minn./DeLaSalle HS).
• Buescher went 3-for-3 at the plate with two runs scored, while Hebig and DeCroock had two hits each.

Spencer Saunders (JR, Liberty, S.C.) picked up the pitching win with an inning of one-run relief of starter
Jordan Brandt (SR, Eagan, Minn.), who claimed four strikeouts in five innings of work.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
• Tied 2-2 after four innings, Salem State took the lead with a four-run fifth inning. Augsburg cut the lead to 6-5 with three runs in the sixth, but could not tie the game, leaving the potential tying run on base in both the sixth and seventh innings.
• Buescher led off the game with a double and scored on an Marlowe single in the first inning, and
Zach Bakko (JR, Northfield, Minn.) hit a solo home run to lead off the fourth inning.
• Bakko walked and Rogers doubled to lead off the sixth inning, and both came around to score after
Mike Snow (FY, Corrales, N.M./Sandia Prep HS) reached base on a fielding error. Snow then scored on a single by Buescher.
• Buescher had three hits for the Auggies, while Bakko and Rogers had two hits each.

Charles Linder (SO, Harris, Minn./North Branch HS) struck out three while walking two in 4.1 innings of pitching work, with
Ryan Kain (JR, Gurnee, Ill./Warren Township HS) striking out one and allowing just one hit in 1.2 innings of relief.
