CHICAGO -- For the first time in program history, the Augsburg College women's lacrosse team went to overtime, but the Illinois Institute of Technology scored 53 seconds into the extra session to claim an 8-7 Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference victory on Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• In a close game throughout, Augsburg took a 7-6 lead when
Delaney Everett (JR, Brooklyn Center, Minn./Champlin Park HS) from her sister,
Demey Everett (FY, Brooklyn Center, Minn./Champlin Park HS), with 3:40 remaining in the second half. But Illinois Tech scored on a free-position goal with 57 seconds left, then scored the game-winning goal 53 seconds into the first six-minute overtime session.

Rachel Frantz (SR, Mounds View, Minn./Irondale HS) scored two goals to lead the Auggies in the game, while
Delaney Everett had a goal, two assists, six ground balls, six caused turnovers and two draw controls.

Demey Everett,
Mikayla Jones (FY, Stillwater, Minn.) and
Izzy Snow (SO, Golden Valley, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong HS) had a goal and an assist each. Snow added two ground balls, a caused turnover and a draw control, Jones had a ground ball and
Demey Everett had a caused turnover.

Helena Nguyen (JR, Maple Grove, Minn.) also scored a goal with two ground balls, and
Dezera Sieracki (SR, Wyoming, Minn./Centennial HS) had an assist with two ground balls.

Christina Nelson (SO, Bloomington, Minn./Kennedy HS) had five ground balls and four caused turnovers.
• Goalie
Marissa Guillou (JR, Burnsville, Minn./Apple Valley HS) had 12 saves and three ground balls.
• Illinois Tech outshot Augsburg by a 31-12 margin and also claimed 13 draw controls to Augsburg's four. The Auggies converted 10-of-25 clearing attempts, while Illinois Tech converted 7-of-10.
FOR THE FOES
• Madison Meredith scored three goals with an assist, including the game-winning overtime goal. She also had two ground balls, five draw controls and a caused turnover.
• Alyssa DeLuca scored two goals with two ground balls and a draw control.
• Abbie Reynolds had two saves and two ground balls in goal for the Scarlet Hawks.
