ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. -- The Augsburg College softball team scored a split of a nonconference doubleheader at Crown College on Monday afternoon, dropping the first game 2-0 before winning the nightcap 9-1 in six innings.

DOUBLEHEADER HIGHLIGHTS

Anesia King (FY, Cambridge, Minn./Cambridge-Isanti HS) led the way for the Auggies in the doubleheader, going 4-for-7 at the plate with an RBI, three runs scored and a stolen base.
•
Samantha Anderson (SO, Coon Rapids, Minn.) pitched all 12 innings of the doubleheader, striking out three while walking four and allowing 10 hits. She struck out three while walking three in the first game, and allowed just five hits in each game.
GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
• Augsburg was limited to just four hits in the first game -- singles by King,Â
Katie Parker (JR, Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville North HS),Â
Amanda Niznik (SR, Columbia Heights, Minn.) andÂ
Lauren Hurley (SR, Arden Hills, Minn./Mounds View HS).
• Augsburg stranded five runners on base in the game, and had just one runner reach second base, when King and Parker both hit singles in the fourth.
• Crown scored a run in the bottom of the first inning and another in the sixth.Â
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
• The Auggies found their hitting stroke in the second game, pounding out 10 hits and taking advantage of two Crown errors to end the game after six innings via the NCAA eight-run rule.
• Augsburg scored twice in the first inning. Leadoff hitter
Carly Dropik (SO, Alexandria, Minn.) reached base on a passed ball after a strikeout, then scored after King reached base on a throwing error. King later scored on an RBI groundout by Anderson. Two more runs came across in the second, thanks to RBI singles by Hurley and King.
• The Auggies scored three runs in the fifth inning. Dropik and King led off the innings with singles, Dropik scored on a sacrifice bunt by
Haley Larson (JR, Shakopee, Minn./Prior Lake HS) and King scored on a single by Parker. Parker then scored on a two-out RBI double by Niznik. A two-run triple by Larson in the top of the sixth gave the Auggies their eighth and ninth runs.
FOR THE FOES
• Lis King threw a complete-game shutout in the first game for Crown, striking out seven while not walking a batter.
• Moriah Sawyer had a double and scored a run for the Storm in the first game.
• Crown's lone run of the second game came in the sixth inning on an RBI double by Marissa Becerra. Janelle Williams also had a double for the Storm in the second game.
