ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The Augsburg College softball team swept a nonconference doubleheader at the University of Northwestern-St. Paul on Thursday afternoon, winning 8-1 and 13-2 (six innings).

DOUBLEHEADER HIGHLIGHTS

Katie Parker (JR, Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville North HS) went 5-for-8 in the doubleheader with a double, two RBI and five runs scored.

Brianna Cline (SR, St. Clair, Minn.) went 4-for-7 in the doubleheader, scoring in four runs and driving in one. She also had two stolen bases in the doubleheader.
GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
• The Auggies scored twice in the first inning, as
Carly Dropik (SO, Alexandria, Minn.) scored on a wild pitch andÂ
Haley Larson (SR, Shakopee, Minn./Prior Lake HS) drove home Cline on a groundout.
• Augsburg scored five run in the third inning to advance its lead to 7-0. Larson hit a double, pushing Cline to third after her one-out single. Cline scored on Parker's single, and
Samantha Anderson (SO, Coon Rapids, Minn.) drove home Larson and Parker on a double down the right-field line, Following a single by
Taylor Mattice (JR, Woodbury, Minn./Cenntenial HS), Anderson scored on an error and Mattice scored on an RBI single by
Lauren Hurley (SR, Arden Hills, Minn./Mounds View HS).
• The Auggies scored their eighth run in the seventh inning, when Parker scored on a
Nell Gehrke (FY, Northfield, Minn.) groundout.
• Anderson picked up the pitching win for the Auggies, striking out seven while walking two and allowing just three hits in a complete-game effort.
• Cline and Anderson had three hits each for the Auggies, while Parker and Cline scored two runs each.Â
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
• The Auggies took control in the second game with 13 hits, ending the contest after six innings via the NCAA eight-run rule.
• Augsburg scored five runs in the third inning, keyed by Dropik's three-run home run to left-center. Cline scored on an error, and
Amanda Niznik (SR, Columbia Heights, Minn.) drove in a run on an infield single.

Anesia King (FY, Cambridge-Minn./Cambridge-Isanti HS) and Parker led off the fifth inning with back-to-back singles, then came around to score after Niznik reached base on an error and Mattice plated a run on a sacrifice bunt.
• The Auggies scored six runs in the six inning, sending 10 batters to the plate and taking advantage of three errors. Cline hit an RBI single, King drove in a run on a sacrifice bunt, Parker hit an RBI double, another run came home after Larson reached base on an error, and pinch-hitter
Shannon Dale (FY, Watertown, Minn./Watertown-Mayer HS) hit an RBI single.
• Dropik and Parker had three hits each in the second game, with Dropik scoring twice while driving in three runs, and Parker scoring three runs. Niznik had two hits and drove in two runs, and Cline and
Jacquline Nichols (SO, Royalton, Minn.) scored two runs each.

Courtney Larsen (SR, Little Canada, Minn./Roseville HS) pitched a complete-game win for the Auggies, striking out five while walking one.
FOR THE FOES
• Ellen Larkin scored the lone Northwestern run in the first game, scoring on an error following a sacrifice bunt by Abbie Nelson.
• Kaylee Forcier and Ellen Larkin drove in runs for the Eagles in the second game, with Mindy Forcier and Kaylee Forcier scoring runs.
