Snow, Sieracki get in record books in Augsburg win

MINNEAPOLIS -- Izzy Snow (SO, Golden Valley, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong HS) and Dezera Sieracki (SR, Wyoming, Minn./Centennial HS) put themselves into the Augsburg College women's lacrosse record books, as the Auggies scored a 19-6 win over Loras College in Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference action on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Snow tied a single-game school record with a seven-point performance, scoring a season-high six goals with an assist. She tied a single-game record set five times earlier in program history, including once earlier this season by teammate Delaney Everett (JR, Brooklyn Center, Minn./Champlin Park HS). Snow also had four draw controls, two ground balls and two caused turnovers in the game.
• Sieracki set a new single-game school record with five assists -- all in the first half -- to break the old mark of four, set three times before in program history. She added a goal for a career-best six-point afternoon. Sieracki also had a ground ball and a caused turnover in the game.
• Augsburg scored eight of the first nine goals of the game in the first 16:49 of play, building a lead they would not relinquish. The Duhawks were unable to cut the Auggie lead under five goals the rest of the way.
• Midfielder Everett continued her strong all-around play for the Auggies, contributing three goals, five ground balls, five draw controls and four turnovers. She now leads the Auggies in points (35), ground balls (35), draw controls (52) and caused turnovers (30), while standing second on the team in goals (26) and third in assists (9).
• Helena Nguyen (JR, Maple Grove, Minn.), the team's leader in goals (27), had a three-goal, two-assist performance for the Auggies against the Duhawks -- three goals and an assist in the first half.
• Rachel Frantz (SR, Mounds View, Minn./Irondale HS) scored three goals with an assist for a four-point day, while also contributing two ground balls.
• Mikayla Knudson (FY, Zimmerman, Minn./Elk River HS) scored a goal with two ground balls, a caused turnover and a ground ball, while Mikayla Jones (FY, Stillwater, Minn.) scored a goal with two ground balls, one draw control and a caused turnover. Ashley Pettipiece (JR, Mounds View, Minn./Irondale HS) scored a goal with a ground ball, draw control and caused turnover.
• Christina Nelson (SO, Bloomington, Minn./Kennedy HS) had three ground balls and two draw controls, and Jesse Heusinkveld (JR, Mound, Minn./Mound-Westonka HS) had a ground ball and draw control. Annika Hegrenes (FY, Maplewood, Minn./Concordia Academy HS) had two ground balls and two caused turnovers.
• Goalie Marissa Guillou (JR, Burnsville, Minn./Apple Valley HS) had eight saves with two ground balls and two caused turnovers.
• Augsburg dominated play throughout, claiming 40 shots compared to Loras' 21. The Auggies also had 23 ground balls to Loras' 19 and 16 draw controls to Loras' 11. Augsburg converted 19-of-22 clearing attempts, compared to Loras' 11-of-19. The Auggies also scored four free-position goals on six shots.

FOR THE FOES
• Olivia Flynn scored two goals with seven caused turnovers, six ground balls and four draw controls.
• Sarah James, Sarah Hanson, Anna Schwalbe and Brittany Miller scored the other Loras goals. 
• Ashley McGee had 13 saves, two ground balls and a caused turnover for the Duhawks.

• Augsburg returns to MWLC play with a game against Wartburg (Iowa) on Sunday (4/2) at 11 a.m. at Edor Nelson Field.
