MINNEAPOLIS -- The Augsburg College baseball team dropped a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader to Bethel University on Tuesday afternoon, falling 5-1 and 7-1.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
• Augsburg took an early lead, as
Clayton Bodine (SO, Plymouth, Minn./Wayzata HS) singled and came around to score on a two-out single by
Rhett Hebig (SR, Apple Valley, Minn./Eastview HS). But Bethel scored all five of its runs in the final two innings of the seven-inning contest.
• Augsburg was limited to four hits in the game, with Bodine going 2-for-3 and Hebig and Tyler "Jonesy" Buescher (SR, Prior Lake, Minn.) each hitting singles.

Jacob Kari (JR, North Branch, Minn.) struck out three while walking one in 5.1 innings of work.
Jordan Brandt (SR, Eagan, Minn.) and Bodine pitched in relief.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
• Augsburg scored its lone run in the fifth inning, as
Jack Duffy (SR, Fridley, Minn./DeLaSalle HS) singled, moved to second on an error and third on a groundout, then scored on an RBI groundout by
Jordan DeCroock (JR, Farmington, Minn.). Duffy led the Auggies with two hits in the game.
• The game was a close one until the ninth inning, when the Royals scored four runs, including a three-run homer by Austin Ledin.

Josh Marlowe (SR, North St. Paul, Minn.) hit a double in the ninth inning for the Auggies.

Charles Linder (SO, Harris, Minn./North Branch HS) had five strikeouts in 6.1 innings of pitching for the Auggies.
FOR THE FOES
• Brett Neuville went 2-for-4 with two RBI in the first game, scoring a run, while Sam Horner went 2-for-3 with a run scored.
• Michael Willman struck out four while walking two in five innings of work, with Jake Marsh striking out two and not allowing a hit in the final two innings to score the save.
• Neuville went 2-for-5 in the second game with a run scored, while Horner went 2-for-4 with a double, RBI and a run scored.
