ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The Augsburg College women's lacrosse team built an 11-2 halftime lead and never looked back, scoring a 16-5 nonconference victory at the University of Northwestern-St. Paul on Thursday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg scored the first seven goals of the game in the opening 18:05 of play. The Auggies held the lead for all but the opening 48 seconds of the contest, and after they jumped out to a 7-0 lead, the advantage did not dip below six goals the rest of the way.

Demey Everett (FY, Brooklyn Center, Minn./Champlin Park HS) scored two goals with two assists, while adding two ground balls for the Auggies. Her older sister,
Delaney Everett (JR, Brooklyn Center, Minn./Champlin Park HS), scored three goals with four draw controls, two ground balls and a caused turnover.

Katie Kvilvang (SO, Grand Rapids, Minn.) scored a goal and
Annika Hegrenes (FY, Maplewood, Minn./Concordia Academy HS) had an assist.
Mikayla Jones (FY, Stillwater, Minn.) had three ground balls and a caused turnover, and
Jesse Heusinkveld (JR, Mound, Minn./Mound-Westonka HS) had a ground ball and caused turnover.

Marissa Guillou (JR, Burnsville, Minn./Apple Valley HS) had nine saves in goal, along with four ground balls and two caused turnovers.
• Augsburg outshot Northwestern by a 37-21 margin, including a 25-11 advantage in the first half. Augsburg had 14 draw controls to Northwestern's nine, and converted 15-of-18 clearing attempts, compared to 16-of-32 for the Eagles. The Auggies scored five free-position goals in the game.
FOR THE FOES
• Eugenia Chamberlain scored two goals with eight ground balls, six caused turnovers and a draw control to lead Northwestern.
• Hannah Shands scored a goal with an assist, four ground balls, four draw controls and a caused turnover.
• Sydney Werlein had 14 saves in goal, while adding five ground balls and a caused turnover.
