MINNEAPOLISÂ -- Scoring eight of the first nine goals of the game in the opening 17:31 of play, the Hamline University women's lacrosse team built a lead and claimed a 17-11 victory over host Augsburg College in Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference action on Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Hamline opened up an 8-1 advantage with 12:29 remaining in the first half, but Augsburg trimmed the lead to just three goals, 10-7 at halftime. The Pipers scored the first four goals of the second half in a 6:45 span, and Augsburg was unable to cut the lead closer than four goals the rest of the way. Both teams are in the hunt for one of the four spots in the MWLC postseason playoffs, with both teams now having two league games remaining in the regular season.

Delaney Everett (JR, Brooklyn Center, Minn./Champlin Park HS) led the way for the Auggies, scoring three goals with an assist. She added nine draw controls, four ground balls and two caused turnovers in the game.

• Augsburg claimed a 34-29 advantage in shots, and both teams had 15 draw controls in the game. Hamline converted 17-of-25 clearing attempts, while Augsburg converted on 17-of-21.

• Hamline was led by Radian Lenz, who had six goals with an assist, adding two draw controls, two ground balls and a caused turnover.
• Sydney Dunneson scored four goals with three ground balls, two draw controls and two caused turnovers, and Dana Almquist scored four goals with two draw controls. Lexus Tatge scored a goal with four assists, six ground balls, three draw controls and two turnovers.
