MOUNT VERNON, Iowa -- The Augsburg College women's lacrosse team scored eight straight goals over the final 12:38 of the first half, then scored the first seven goals of the second half to rally from an early deficit and claim a 18-9 win over host Cornell College in Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference action on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Trailing 4-2 with 13:04 left in the first half, the Auggies went on a 15-1 scoring burst, taking a 17-5 advantage with 10:00 left in the second half. Augsburg outshot Cornell by a 37-21 margin in the game, including a 20-9 advantage in the first half.

Rachel Frantz (SR, Mounds View, Minn./Irondale HS) led the way for the Auggies, scoring four goals with an assist. She scored three goals in the 15-1 outburst, and added two ground balls.Â

• Augsburg collected 29 ground balls compared to Cornell's 23, had 19 draw controls to Cornell's nine, and converted 15-of-22 clearing attempts, compared to 17-of-27 for the Rams.
FOR THE FOES
• Cornell was led by Caitlyn St. Marie, who scored three goals with two ground balls and a caused turnover. Vaughn Zittle scored two goals with four draw controls and a ground ball.
• Hollie Force had nine saves and two ground balls for the Rams.
