MINNEAPOLIS --
Jordan DeCroock (JR, Farmington, Minn.) went 5-for-6 at the plate in the doubleheader, leading Augsburg College in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference baseball action against the University of St. Thomas on Wednesday. The Tommies claimed both wins in the doubleheader, 5-2 in eight innings and 7-5.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
• After St. Thomas took a 1-0 lead in the top of the third inning, Augsburg gained the lead in the bottom of the frame.
Eric Olheiser (SR, Maplewood, Minn./Tartan HS) scored after DeCroock reached base on a single and advanced on a throwing error. DeCroock scored when
Rhett Hebig (SR, Apple Valley, Minn./Eastview HS) reached base on a fielder's choice.
• The game proved to be a pitchers' duel between the two starters --Augsburg's
Jacob Kari (JR, North Branch, Minn.) and St. Thomas' Ryan Zimmerman. Kari struck out two in seven innings of work, while Zimmerman pitched a complete-game victory, striking out nine while walking one and throwing 138 pitches in eight innings.
• St. Thomas tied the game on a solo home run in the top of the seventh, then took the lead with three runs in the eighth inning.
• DeCroock went 3-for-3 at the plate in the first game.
Josh Marlowe (SR, North St. Paul, Minn.) had a double in the eighth inning. Hebig, Olheiser and
Clayton Bodine (SO, Plymouth, Minn./Wayata HS) had singles for the Auggies.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
• Augsburg held a 3-1 lead after four innings, but St. Thomas sent 11 batters to the plate and scored six runs in the fifth inning to take the lead for good. Augsburg scored single runs in the fifth and sixth innings to trim the lead to two runs, but could get no further.
• Buescher scored on a groundout by
Mike Brookshaw (SO, Prescott, Wis.) and Hebig scored on a wild pitch in the first inning, and Olheiser hit a solo home run to left field in the fourth.

Zach Bakko (JR, Northfield, Minn.) tripled to drive in Marlowe in the fifth inning, and Hebig singled to plate Bodine in the sixth.
• Bakko went 3-for-4 for the Auggies, while Marlowe, Olheiser and DeCroock had two hits each.

Jordan Brandt (SR, Eagan, Minn.) struck out four while walking three in 4.2 innings of work.
FOR THE FOES
• Pinch hitter Josh Thorp tied the game at 2-2 with a solo home run in the seventh inning of the first game, and Rock Cates hit a two-run homer in the eighth to give the Tommies the lead.
• Zach Gottfredsen went 3-for-5 to lead St. Thomas in the first game, while Jake Smith had two hits. Sam Cobbs and Logan Kohorst had two hits each for the Tommies in the second game.
