NORTHFIELD, Minn. -- Putting together 560 yards of total offense, including 449 passing yards from
Quinn Frisell (JR, Plymouth, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong HS), the Augsburg University football team claimed a 48-28 victory over host Carleton College in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference football contest on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Frisell completed 29-of-38 passes for 449 yards and four touchdowns against one interception, in his second straight 400-plus-yard passing performance of the season.Â

Nick Heenie (JR, Victoria, Minn./Waconia HS) caught 10 passes for a career-high 178 yards and three touchdowns, his fourth straight 100-plus-yard receiving performance and fifth of his career. He caught a 73-yard touchdown pass from Frisell late in the first quarter, then caught a 14-yard scoring pass in the second quarter and a 28-yarder in the third quarter.

Ray Guyton Jr. (SR, Stockton, Calif./St. Mary's HS) also had a career afternoon, catching 11 passes for 146 yards and a 34-yard touchdown pass from Frisell, which opened the scoring in the first quarter.Â

• Augsburg held a 14-7 lead after the first quarter, but a touchdown early in the second frame enabled Carleton to tie the game at 14-14. On the ensuing kickoff, Augsburg's
Undre Smith-Brewer (SR, St. Paul, Minn./Johnson HS) returned it 95 yards for a touchdown, breaking the old school record of 94 yards, set by Dan Nayman in a 1980 game against Hamline. It's Augsburg's first kickoff return for a touchdown since Oct. 18, 2014, when
Isiah Malone (SR, Brooklyn Center, Minn./Park Center HS) had an 89-yard return touchdown against Concordia-Moorhead.
• Tiras Bolton (SR, Omaha, Neb./Omaha Westside HS) had 96 all-purpose yards in the game, rushing 18 times for 79 yards and two touchdowns, while catching three passes for 17 yards. He scored touchdowns on rushes of four yards in the third quarter and 15 yards in the fourth quarter.

Kyle Hughes (SR, Minnetonka, Minn./Minneapolis Washburn HS) caught three passes for 86 yards.

Jermaine Borward (JR, St. Paul, Minn./Tartan HS) recorded six tackles (two solo), including a sack and 1.5 tackles for-loss, while
Mustafa Adam (SO, River Falls, Wis.) also had six tackles (one solo) with 0.5 tackles for-loss.Â
Derek Glynn (SO, Lonsdale, Minn./Faribault HS) also recorded a quarterback sack for the Auggies, and
Carlos Williams (FY, Eden Prairie, Minn./Eden Prairie HS) recorded his first career interception.
• Special teams continued to be a strong point for the Auggies. Punter
Glenn Meyers (SR, Blaine, Minn./Blaine HS), the MIAC's leading punter with a 40.6-yard average, had four punts for a 44.5-yard average on Saturday, including two placed inside the Carleton 20-yard line. KickerÂ
Tyler Hanson (JR, Prior Lake, Minn./Prior Lake HS) had four touchbacks on kickoffs, averaging 60.1 yards per-kickoff.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• Guyton's 11 catches and Heenie's 10 catches mark the first time that two Augsburg receivers have caught 10-plus passes in a single game since Sept. 12, 2009, when Muneer Al-Hameed and Mike Nourie had 10 catches each in an Augsburg loss to Wartburg (Iowa).
• Including Saturday's 73-yard scoring strike to Heenie, Frisell has now thrown five touchdown passes for 60 or more yards this season. Frisell now leads the
MIAC's overall statistics in passing yardage (1,469), passing yardage per-game (367.3) and passing touchdowns (16).
• Heenie and Guyton occupy two of the top three spots in the MIAC's receiving rankings, with Heenie leading the MIAC in receiving yardage (521), receiving yardage per-game (130.3) and receiving touchdowns (10), while Guyton stands second in the MIAC in receiving yardage (402), third in receiving yardage per-game (100.2) and second in receptions (32).
• Augsburg has now recorded 500-plus yards of total offense in three of its four games this season. Augsburg's 493.3 yards per-game of total offense is currently second-best in the MIAC, just behind Gustavus' 499.3 average.
FOR THE FOES
• Christian Zaytoun completed 15-of-37 passes for 216 yards and two touchdowns -- a 46-yarder to Dylan Rye in the first quarter and a 37-yarder to Dane Birkeland in the fourth quarter.Â
• Logan Emholtz caught three passes for 55 yards, while rushing 10 times for 55 yards. Birkeland caught two passes for 51 yards, Rye caught two passes for 49 yards and Emanual Williams caught five passes for 48 yards. Tyler O'Keefe rushed 12 times for 41 yards.
• Spencer Francis recorded 12 tackles (seven solo) with a sack and an interception to lead the Carleton defense. Merrick Ducharme had 10 tackles (five solo) and a fumble recovery, and Kwaku Bodom had nine tackles (one solo) and a half-sack.
