Augsburg drops 1-0 decision to UW-Eau Claire

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Augsburg University women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in a nonconference contest on Wednesday evening at Edor Nelson Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg was outshot by a 13-8 margin in the contest, with just three shots on-goal in the contest. The Auggies had several chances to score, however, but were whistled seven times for offside in the game, including one that negated an Auggie goal by Olivia House (SO, Richfield, Minn./Richfield HS) in the 76th minute.
• Nicole Ryan (FY, Minneapolis, Minn./Washburn HS), Kealie Espinda Banick (JR, Apple Valley, Minn./Eastview HS) and Ashley St. Aubin (SO, Burnsville, Minn./Burnsville HS) had two shots each for the Auggies in the game, with Ryan, Espinda Banick and Ciara Gregory (SO, Cottage Grove, Minn./Park HS) each recording a shot on-goal.
• Goalkeepers Emily Chapman (SO, Elburn, Ill./Kaneland HS) and Marissa Guillou (SR, Burnsville, Minn./Apple Valley HS) split time in goal, with Chapman recording two saves in the first half and Guillou recording two saves in the second half.

FOR THE FOES
• Jordyn Gunderson scored the lone goal of the game for the Blugolds, putting home a shot from the center of the penalty box in the 69th minute, assisted by Hannah Jacobson (JR, Eagan, Minn./Eagan HS).
• Anna Sveiven and Samantha Lefaive combined for the shutout win in goal for UW-Eau Claire, with Lefaive collecting three saves in the second half.
