Lukas Gillett (JR, Rosemount, Minn./Rosemount HS) and
Matt Nehls (FY, Boulder, Colo./D.C. West HS) scored goals for Augsburg University, as the Auggies rallied from a first-period deficit to claim a 2-1 nonconference men's hockey win over the No. 3-ranked University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point on Friday evening.

• Gillett tied the game at 1-1 for the Auggies with his fifth goal of the season, completing a 3-on-2 rush with a wrist shot from the left side, a power-play goal at the 14:33 mark of the second period, assisted by
Austin Martinsen (FY, Farmington, Minn./Farmington HS) andÂ
Chandler Madry (JR, Bakersfield, Calif./Fairbanks (Alaska) BEST HS). The assist was Madry's 13th of the season, moving him into the lead in
assists among Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference players in overall statistics.
• The Auggies took the lead at the 9:43 mark of the third period, as Nehls scored on a blast from the blue line, following a pass from
Gunnar Goodmanson (FY, Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo HS) off the rebound of a
Jake Larson (JR, St. Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville HS) shot.

Nick Schmit (JR, Fargo, N.D./Fargo North HS) stopped 26 of the 27 shots he faced in goal to pick up the victory for the Auggies. Playing all but 4:55 of Augsburg's 964:47 this season in goal, Schmit now has a 2.19 goals-against-average and .920 save percentage -- fourth and fifth, respectively, among MIAC goalies in overall statistics. His 11 wins are the most among MIAC goalies in overall statistics.
• UW-Stevens Point outshot Augsburg by a 27-24 margin in the game.
