Luke Dietsch (JR, St. Paul, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall HS) and
Lukas Gillett (JR, Rosemount, Minn./Rosemount HS) scored two goals each, and Daniil Gerasimov (FY, Moscow, Russia/State School 1944) recorded his first collegiate victory in goal, as the Augsburg University men's hockey team claimed a 6-2 nonconference win over the University of Wisconsin-Stout on Saturday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Gillett and Dietsch scored even strength goals as Augsburg built a 4-0 lead early in the second period, and after UW-Stout scored twice in the second period to cut into the lead, Dietsch and Gillett scored third-period power-play goals to clinch the win.

Jake Larson (JR, St. Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville HS) and
Nate Flynn (SR, Hastings, Minn./Hastings HS) also scored goals for the Auggies, with Flynn scoring his 12th goal to move into a tie for the lead in goals
among Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference players in overall statistics.

Paul Soubry (JR, Winnipeg, Manitoba/St. Paul's HS),
Billy Wagner (SR, Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater HS) and
Eric Brenk (JR, Moorhead, Minn./Moorhead HS) had two assists each, and
Chandler Madry (JR, Bakersfield, Calif./Fairbanks (Alaska) BEST HS) recorded his 14th assist of the campaign, tied for the lead among MIAC players in the overall category.
• Seeing the first action for an Auggie goalie other than
Nick Schmit (JR, Fargo, N.D./Fargo North HS) in goal this season, Gerasimov stopped 31 of the 33 shots he faced to pick up his first collegiate victory.
• Augsburg and UW-Stout had 33 shots apiece, with the Auggies claiming an 11-4 advantage in the third period.
• Madry and Larson had four shots on-goal each to lead the Auggies.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• It's the seventh time this season that Augsburg has scored five or more goals.
• Augsburg has now outscored its opponents by a 63-38 margin this year. Augsburg's 3.71 overall goals per-game average is tops among MIAC teams, while its 2.24 overall goals per-game allowed average is second-best in the MIAC.
