ST. PAUL, Minn. -- A goal with 1:46 left in regulation time gave Hamline University a 1-0 victory over visiting Augsburg University in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's hockey contest on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The game was a closely contested, even affair throughout, with Hamline outshooting Augsburg by a 25-20 margin. Neither team could score on two power plays each in the game.
• Rebecca Sonnek (SR, Edina, Minn./Edina HS) stopped 24 of the 25 shotsshe faced in goal, but took the hard-luck loss in goal for the Auggies. Sonnek's .934 save percentage is second-best among MIAC goalies in overall statistics, while her 1.57 goals-against-average is tied for third-best.
• Megan Johnson (JR, Madison, Wis./Memorial HS) and Nikki Nightengale (SO, Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson HS) had three shots on-goal each for the Auggies.
• Hamline entered the game ranked No. 10 in the latest D3hockey.com Division III women's national poll, while receiving votes in the USCHO.com national poll. Augsburg is receiving votes in both polls.

FOR THE FOES
• Dani Perry scored the lone goal of the game for the Pipers at the 18:14 mark of the final period, assisted by Darby Dodds.
• Annie Juergens had 20 saves in goal for Hamline to score the shutout win.
