Tough shooting afternoon leads to Auggie loss to CSB

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Augsburg University women's basketball team struggled to convert on the offensive end of the floor, hitting only 30.0 percent from the field as the Auggies fell to the league-leading College of Saint Benedict 59-45 in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Auggies got off to a slow start, only scoring six points in the first quarter and were never able to bounce back, as the Augsburg offense struggled to find its offensive rhythm in part due to early foul trouble.
• K'Aezha Wubben (SO, SO, Minneapolis, Minn./Hopkins HS) led Augsburg with 13 points, shooting 4-of-8 from the floor, while adding three rebounds, two assists and two steals.
• Carlee Kobow (JR, Becker, Minn./Becker HS) grabbed a team-best four rebounds.
• For the game, Augsburg shot 30.3 percent (15-of-50) from the floor, while Saint Benedict connected on 40.0 percent (18-of-45) of its shot attempts. The Blazers claimed a 32-18 advantage in points in the paint and a 47-24 advantage on the boards.

 FOR THE FOES
• Niki Fokken led the Blazers with 15 points, shooting 7-for-9 from the floor.
• Chelsey Guetter and Maddie Schmitz added 10 points apiece for Saint Benedict.
