ST. PAUL, Minn. -- With 15 different players seeing game action and 11 scoring, the Augsburg University men's basketball team pulled away in the second half and claimed a 110-86 victory over Macalester College in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The game was a close one early, with Macalester pulling out to a seven-point lead in the first seven minutes of play. But a 10-2 Augsburg run over a 2:29 span late in the first half gave the Auggies a lead which they would not relinquish the rest of the way. Augsburg led 54-49 at halftime, and a 17-5 run to open the second half gave the Auggies a 71-54 lead with 14:07 left to play. Augsburg led by as many as 28 points down the stretch.

Collin Olmscheid (SR, Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo HS) led the Auggies with 27 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the field and a perfect 13-of-13 from the free-throw line. The game marked Olmscheid's eighth 20-point-plus performance of the season, and he currently stands second
among MIAC players in overall statistics with an 18.6 points per-game average.

Chany Pal (SR, Fridley, Minn./Fridley HS) put together one of his best performances of his Augsburg career, scoring a career-high 18 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the field, while going 6-of-6 from the free-throw line. He pulled down five rebounds and had two steals.

Booker Coplin (SO, Shakopee, Minn./Shakopee HS) scored 14 points with nine rebounds, five assists and four steals, and
Nick Sabatke (SR, Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Eagan HS) scored eight points with four rebounds and two steals.

Matt Carik (FY, Rogers, Minn./Rogers HS) and
Henry Mulligan (SO, Iowa City, Iowa/Iowa City HS) each scored nine points off the bench, with
Martin Mitchell (SO, Apple Valley, Minn./Eastview HS) scoring eight points.
Harry Sonie (SR, Burnsville, Minn./Apple Valley HS) scored seven points with five rebounds.
• Augsburg hit 45.8 percent (33-of-72) from the field, including nine 3-pointers. The Auggies also connected on 35-of-40 from the free-throw line, a season-high in both categories, as Macalester committed 32 fouls in the game, the most by an Auggie opponent this season. Macalester hit 40.8 percent (31-of-76) from the field and committed 25 turnovers, which Augsburg turned into 32 points.
• Augsburg held a 46-43 advantage in rebounds, had 19 assists, 12 steals and five blocked shots.
FOR THE FOES
• Macalester was led by Jason Henningfield, who scored 20 points with 10 rebounds and five blocked shots. Aidan Toner-Rodgers and Rob Newman scored 12 points each.
• The game is Macalester's eighth in its last 11 contests that it has surrendered 100 or more points.
