WINONA, Minn. -- The Augsburg University men's basketball team used a 58-point first half to build a 22-point advantage at the intermission, cruising to a 96-62 victory over Saint Mary's University in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg scored the opening basket and quickly jumped out to 14-5 advantage. The Auggies led by 22 points at the half and as many as 38 in the second, before cruising to the victory. This is the fifth time this season that Augsburg has scored more than 90 points, while the 96-point performance is its second-highest on the season, only behind a 110-point performance against Macalester on Jan. 24.
• Fifteen different Auggies saw action in the game, with 11 factoring into the scoring. Augsburg finished with five players scoring in double figures, led by a 24-point performance by
Collin Olmscheid (SR, Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo HS). Olmscheid finished 10-of-13 from the floor and added four rebounds, a pair of assists and a steal. For the fifth consecutive game, Olmscheid has not missed from the free-throw line; he is a combined 27-of-27 from the charity stripe over his last five games, and has now hit 29 free throws in a row. Olmscheid leads the
MIAC's overall statistics with a 90.5 free-throw percentage (67-of-74).

Kevin McKiernan (JR, Savage, Minn./Prior Lake HS) shot 7-of-9 from the field and finished with 19 points and four assists. McKiernan is averaging 15.5 points per-game over his last four contests.Â
• Leading Augsburg on the boards was
Booker Coplin (SO, Shakopee, Minn./Shakopee HS), who pulled down six rebounds to go along with 13 points.Â
• Also scoring in double figures for Augsburg was
Henry Mulligan (SO, Iowa City, Iowa/Iowa City HS) and
Martin Mitchell (SO, Apple Valley, Minn./Eastview HS), who finished with 13 and 12 points respectively.
• For the game, Augsburg shot 53.7 percent (36-of-67) from the field, while Saint Mary's was held to just 34.5 percent (20-of-58) shooting. The Auggies have shot better than 50 percent from the field in seven games this season and are 7-0 in those contests.
• Augsburg posted a 42-34 advantage on the boards and was able to outscore the Cardinals 36-10 in points in the paint and 25-5 in points off turnovers.
FOR THE FOES
• Saint Mary's was led by Sawyer Rosner, who finished with 11 points and four rebounds.
• Jakob Bailey pulled down a team-best six rebounds, while adding six points and a pair of assists.
