WINONA, Minn. -- The Augsburg University women's basketball team struggled to find its offensive rhythm and dropped a 77-58 contest to Saint Mary's University in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg and Saint Mary's played basket-for-basket in the first, third and fourth quarters, but a 29-14 advantage for the Cardinals in the second quarter proved to be the difference maker as the Auggies fell to a tough SMU squad.

Tamira McLemore (SO, Eagan, Minn./Eagan HS) led the Augsburg offense with a 20-point performance. McLemore added five rebounds and three steals and was 6-for-7 from the free-throw line on the afternoon.

Camryn Speese (SO, Bloomington, Minn./DeLaSalle HS) added nine points for the Auggies and Jazmyn Solseth (FY, Inver Grove Heights, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran HS) pulled down a team-high six rebounds, to go along with two points.
• For the game, Augsburg shot 33.8 percent (22-of-65) from the field, while the Cardinals had their second-best shooting performance of the season, connecting on 54.0 percent (27-of-50) of their shot attempts.
• Saint Mary's claimed a 41-29 advantage on the boards and a 20-8 advantage in points in the paint.
FOR THE FOES
• Brandi Blattner had an outstanding afternoon for the Cardinals, posting a 30-point, 15-rebound double-double.
• Abby Winter pulled down 10 rebounds for SMU and Alexa Huisman added 11 points.
