MINNEAPOLIS --
Collin Olmscheid (SR, Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo HS) scored a season-high 29 points to lead the Augsburg University men's basketball team to 92-81 victory over rival Hamline University in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action on Wednesday night at Si Melby Hall.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Both teams had outstanding shooting performances, each shooting better than 55 percent from the field, in a well-played game from start to finish. Augsburg led for 33:32 of the action, but a hot-shooting Hamline squad always seemed to be within striking distance. The Auggies used a key 13-1 run over a 4:21 span to take a 66-54 lead and were able to keep the Pipers from coming back, thanks in part to seven offensive rebounds and a 12-5 advantage in points off-turnovers in the second half.
• Olmscheid led all players with a game and season-high 29 points, connecting on 12-of-17 from the floor, while adding five rebounds and a pair of assists. Olmscheid is ranked second in the MIAC in scoring average and has scored in double figures in all but one game this season.
• Also posting a season-best offensive performance was
Kevin McKiernan (JR, Savage, Minn./Prior Lake HS), who scored 21 points, while adding a season-high six rebounds. McKiernan was 6-for-10 from the field and a perfect 6-of-6 from the free-throw line.

Booker Coplin (SO, Shakopee, Minn./Shakopee HS) and
Harry Sonie (SR, Burnsville, Minn./Apple Valley HS) added 12 and 11 points respectively for the Auggies. Coplin added six boards and four assists, while Sonie dished out a team-best six assists, to go along with a pair of steals.
• For the game, Augsburg shot a season-high 55.0 percent from the field (33-of-60), while Hamline had its second-best shooting performance of the season, connecting on 56.4 percent (31-of-55) of its shot attempts. The Auggies were able to connect on 50.0 percent of their three-point attempts (11-of-22), while Hamline could only convert 38.9 percent (7-of-18) from three-point range.
• The Auggies claimed a 28-26 advantage on the boards.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• With the win, Augsburg moves to 9-2 overall -- their best start to a season after 11 games since the 2012-13 campaign, when they started 10-1, en route to a 21-7 finish and appearance in the MIAC playoff championship game.
FOR THE FOES
• Hamline had three players finish in double figures, led by Dylan See-Rockers and Isaac Brooks, who finished with 21 and 17 points respectively.
• TC Robinson added 10 points, while Zach Smith dished out a game-high eight assists for the Pipers.
