Auggie women score 3-1 win at UW-Eau Claire

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. -- Bridget Wagner (SO, Niles, Ill./Maine South HS) had a goal and assist, and Rebecca Sonnek (SR, Edina, Minn./Edina HS) stopped 25 of the 26 shots she faced in goal, as the Augsburg University women's hockey team claimed a 3-1 win over the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in nonconference action on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Wagner tied for the team lead with her fifth goal of the season just 5:11 into the contest, assisted by Hollywood Hermanson (SO, Dover, Minn./Dover-Eyota HS) and Taral Clayton (SR, Anchorage, Alaska/Dimond HS). Wagner now has five goals and five assists for a team-best 10 points on the campaign. 
• Emily Ach (SO, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Park Center HS) scored her third goal of the season at the 2:31 mark of the third period, assisted by Jeanette Bealke (SO, White Bear Lake, Minn./White Bear Lake HS) and Wagner.
• After the Blugolds cut the lead to 2-1 at the 5:34 mark of the final frame, Augsburg clinched the win with an empty-net goal by Megan Johnson (JR, Madison, Wis./Memorial HS) with 20 seconds left in the game. Johnson now has four goals on the season, including two empty-net markers.
• Sonnek had another strong effort in goal, stopping 25 of the 26 shots she faced, including 10 saves in the third period. 
• Augsburg was outshot by a 26-15 margin in the game. Johnson had four shots on-goal, while Ach had three shots.

FOR THE FOES
• Abby Roeser scored the lone goal of the game for the Blugolds, assisted by Holly Turnbull and Sami Meister, at the 5:34 mark of the third period.
• Erin Connolly had 12 saves in goal for UW-Eau Claire.
