NORTHFIELD, Minn. --
Kayla Gjerde (FY, Afton, Minn./Stillwater HS) recorded 12 kills and 14 digs, both match-bests, to lead the Augsburg University volleyball team in an important Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference sweep at Carleton College on Friday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Auggies were able to piece together an efficient three-set sweep of the Knights with their fourth-best hitting performance of the season, posting a .323 attack percentage, while holding Carleton to .106 for the match. Augsburg is 18-0 this season when they hit better than .210.
• Gjerde's match-best 12 kills marked the third time she has had 12 or more kills in a match, and her 10th match with double-digit kills -- the most of any Auggie this season. Her 14 digs ties her season-best total, and marks the third kill-dig double-double of her rookie campaign.

Corrina Evans (SO, Blaine, Minn./Blaine HS) added eight kills, hitting at .400 percent, adding two digs and a block assist.

Jade Boysen (FY, Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS) and
Sydnie Zachary (JR, Apple Valley, Minn./Bloomington Jefferson HS) had six kills each for the Auggies. Zachary also chipped in five digs, five assists and a service ace, while Boysen had two block assists.
• Setter
Morgan Malley (SR, Harmony, Minn./Fillmore Central HS) had 30 assists, also adding nine digs and three kills.

Macey Terhell (SR, Osceola, Wis./Osceola HS) recorded 12 digs, two assists and a kill. Terhell is leading all MIAC players in digs and digs per-match for conference matches-only, with 177 total digs and 6.10 digs per set.
FOR THE FOES
• Faith Skinner led the Knights with nine kills, adding seven digs and an assist.
• Inger Shelton finished with 27 assists, while Elyse Wansenried had a team-best 10 digs and also added eight kills and two assists.
UP NEXT
• Augsburg returns to action on Saturday (10/20), playing the University of Wisconsin-Superior at 5 p.m. and University of Minnesota-Morris at 7 p.m., both in Morris, Minn.
