HOW IT HAPPENED
• After surrendering a goal just 6:40 into play, Augsburg answered less than two minutes later, as Emmanuel Egbujor (SR, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Champlin Park HS) scored two goals in a 2:10 span to give the Auggies the lead for good. He scored on a shot from a difficult angle following a nice feed by Kouseng Yang (SR, Hugo, Minn./White Bear Lake HS) at the 8:31 mark, then scored in front following a feed from the left side by Lionel Vang (JR, Little Canada, Minn./Roseville HS) at the 10:41 mark. Nick Zuchowski (FY, Wales, Wis./Kettle Moraine HS) also assisted on Egbujor's second goal.
• The Auggies scored twice more in the second half, with Peyton Boich (JR, Cottage Grove, Minn./Park HS) assisting on both goals with nice downfield feeds. He threaded a pass to Vang who scored from the middle of the penalty box at the 47:47 mark, then sent a long ball to Johnny Vu (SO, Maplewood, Minn./Roseville HS), who sprinted and slotted the ball into the net at the 80:35 mark.
• After allowing the opening goal, the Auggies controlled the momentum of the game the rest of the way, outshooting the Cobbers by a 24-15 margin in the game. Vang had five shots in the game, with three on-frame, while Egbujor and Vu had four shots each.
• Goalkeeper Garrett Kaelin (JR, Stillwater, Minn./Hill-Murray HS) had three saves in goal, all in the second half, to claim the win and improve to 5-1-2 on the season.
