MINNEAPOLIS -- A six-game unbeaten streak for the Augsburg University men's soccer team came to an end on Tuesday night, as a first-half goal by the University of St. Thomas held up in a 1-0 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference decision at Edor Nelson Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• St. Thomas controlled possession throughout the contest, allowing few clear opportunities for Augsburg scoring attempts. The Tommies outshot the Auggies by an 18-5 margin, including a 12-5 advantage in the first half. The Tommies scored the lone goal of the game in the 23rd minute on a header in front off of a corner kick.

• The loss snapped a six-game unbeaten streak for Augsburg, with the Auggies going 4-0-2 in the stretch to clinch a berth in the six-team MIAC postseason playoffs. With Tuesday's results, Augsburg now stands in fifth place in the MIAC standings with 17 points.
FOR THE FOES
• Halvor Houg scored for the Tommies on a header off a corner kick by Jake Amey at the 22:46 mark.
• Aidan Hogan had one save in goal to claim the shutout victory.
