BLAINE, Minn. -- For the second straight night,
Alex Rodriguez (SR, Miami, Fla./Shattuck-St. Mary's (Minn.) HS) scored a three-goal hat trick, leading the Augsburg University men's hockey to its second victory at the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Showcase, a 5-3, come-from-behind triumph over Hamline University on Saturday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Trailing 1-0 after one period, the line of Rodriguez,
Tommy Carey (SO, Moorhead, Minn./Moorhead HS) and
Chandler Madry (SR, Bakersfield, Calif./Fairbanks (Alaska) BEST HS) struck twice in the second period, with both linemates assisting on Rodriguez's first two goals.
• Hamline scored twice in a 26-second span to take a 3-2 lead at the 15:54 mark of the second period, but Augsburg scored the final three goals to claim the win. The run started at the 17:20 mark, as
Austin Dollimer (FY, Rosemount, Minn./Rosemount HS) scored his first collegiate goal, assisted by
Gunnar Goodmanson (SO, Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo HS).

Eric Brenk (SR, Moorhead, Minn./Moorhead HS) gave the Auggies the lead with a goal from
Luke Dietsch (SR, St. Paul, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall HS) and Dollimer 1:27 into the third period, and Rodriguez capped his hat trick with a goal with 2:24 left in the game, scoring from Carey and
Matt Nehls (SO, Boulder, Colo./D.C. West HS).
• Augsburg claimed a 39-29 shots on-goal advantage in the game. Rodriguez had six shots on-goal, as did
Austin Martinsen (SO, Farmington, Minn./Farmington HS).
• Goalie Daniil Gerasimov (SO, Moscow, Russia/State School 1944) claimed his third career victory for the Auggies, collecting 26 saves in the game.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• Rodriguez's two hat tricks mark the first time an Augsburg player has had multiple hat tricks in a single season since
Nick Guran had two in the 2010-11 campaign.
• Augsburg has had its share of success in the 10 seasons of the MIAC Showcase, claiming a 14-5-1 record, including a 7-2-1 record in five seasons of games at the Schwan SuperRink. The Auggies were 7-3-0 in the first five seasons of the showcase, played at Blaine's Fogarty Arena.
