ARDEN HILLS, Minn. -- Rallying from a two-set deficit, the No. 5-seed Augsburg University volleyball team claimed a dramatic 3-2 victory at No. 4-seed Bethel University in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference playoff quarterfinal match on Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• After dropping the first two sets to Bethel, Augsburg rallied back with a spectacular defensive effort -- led by the three Auggie seniors -- to win in five sets. The Auggies set a season-best 131 digs for the match, withÂ
Macey Terhell (SR, Osceola, Wis./Osceola HS) and
Morgan Malley (SR, Harmony, Minn./Fillmore Central HS) finishing with 29 digs each, a career-high for Malley. Fellow seniorÂ
Stephanie Hechsel (SR, Apple Valley, Minn./Apple Valley HS) had a career-high 21 digs.Â
• Malley also added 54 assists, seven kills, a block assist and a service ace. Terhell chipped in seven assists and three aces.Â
• Leading the Augsburg offense wasÂ
Megan Quam (JR, Kenyon, Minn./Kenyon-Wanamingo HS), who had a career-best 16 kills, her 10th double-digit kill effort for the season. Quam also had four digs and three block assists.Â

Kayla Gjerde (FY, Afton, Minn./Stillwater HS) and
Corrina Evans (SO, Blaine, Minn./Blaine HS) had 10 kills each. Gjerde also finished with nine digs and a block assist, while Evans snatched four block assists, three digs and an assist.Â
• Middle blocker
Jade Boysen (FY, Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS) racked up nine kills, four block assists and three digs.
Sydnie Zachary (JR, Apple Valley, Minn./Bloomington Jefferson HS) also had nine kills, and added 17 digs (her 12th match with double-digit digs this season), three block assists and a service ace.Â
• Cookii Shiongyaj (SO, St. Paul, Minn./Johnson HS) notched a career-best 13 digs, also finishing with three assists.
Maddie Nierengarten (SO, Foley, Minn./Princeton HS) chipped in seven kills for the Auggies, along with a dig and an assist.
FOR THE FOESÂ
• Tina Hoppe and Brooke Olstad paced the Royals' offense, finishing with 19 and 14 kills respectively.Â
• Hannah Wilhite tallied 42 assists and 16 digs, while Allie Fauth picked up 36 digs. Â
