Evans and Quam lead Auggies over St. Scholastica

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- Corrina Evans (SO, Blaine, Minn./Blaine HS) and Megan Quam (JR, Kenyon, Minn./Kenyon-Wanamingo HS) led the Augsburg University volleyball team in a 3-0 victory over the College of St. Scholastica in nonconference action on Friday night.

RECORDS: Augsburg 17-3 overall, St. Scholastica 7-13 overall

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg put together a dominant game -- defeating the Saints in a straight-set sweep -- hitting at an impressive .288 for the match, while holding the Saints to just a .021 hitting percentage. The Auggies are 15-0 this season when they hit better than .200. 
• Pacing Augsburg was Evans, who finished with a match-high 10 kills, hitting at a .526 clip. This marks the eighth time this season that Evans has finished with double-digit kills. She also added three block assists and a dig. 
• Hitting at .571, Quam chipped in nine kills. Quam also had two block assists and a dig. 
• Anchoring the Augsburg defense was Macey Terhell (SR, Osceola, Wis./Osceola HS) and Stephanie Hechsel (SR, Apple Valley, Minn./Apple Valley HS), who each finished with 12 digs. Terhell added a kill and an assist. 
• Morgan Malley (SR, Harmony, Minn./Fillmore Central HS) handled the setting duties, dishing out 34 assists, while picking up eight digs, five kills and a block assist. 
Kayla Gjerde (FY, Afton, Minn./Stillwater HS) and Jade Boysen (FY, Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS) each had seven kills for the Auggies. Boysen had six block assists, the sixth time this season she has had five or more block assists. Boysen leads the Auggies with 62 blocks (eight solo, 1.07 per-set) this season.

FOR THE FOES
• Brooke Schermann paced St. Scholastica, finishing with a team-best seven kills. 
• Kelsi Rippberger had 10 assists for the Saints, while Taylor Thompson had 14 digs.

• Augsburg returns to action on Saturday (10/6) at 11 a.m., hosting the University of Wisconsin-Stout at Si Melby Hall in another nonconference matchup.
