2018 MIAC WOMEN'S SOCCER AWARDS
MINNEAPOLIS -- Five Augsburg University women's soccer players earned Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference postseason honors, it was announced on Friday. Forward
Ashley St. Aubin (JR, Burnsville, Minn./Burnsville HS) earned All-MIAC honors for the third straight year, joining defender
Jada Olson (JR, Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) on the All-MIAC squad. Olson was an All-MIACÂ Honorable Mention selection last year. Forwards
Gabriela Encarnacion (JR, Bel Air, Md./Bel Air HS) and
Jessy Wiskofske (SR, Wausau, Wis./Wausau West HS) were named All-MIACÂ Honorable Mention, and defender
Kate Johnston (SR, Missoula, Mont./Hellgate HS) was named to the All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team. The conference honors are the first for Encarnacion, Wiskofske and Johnston.
The five were key players in the continuation of Augsburg's success over the past decade. Under 20th-year head coach
Mike Navarre, the Auggies finished 14-7-0 overall and 8-3-0 in MIAC play in 2018, marking the seventh straight year of double-digit victories and the fifth straight year earning eight or more conference wins. Augsburg reached the MIAC playoffs for the fifth straight year and sixth time in the last seven years, making the conference final for the fourth time in seven years.

St. Aubin continued her career as the conference's most dynamic scorer, leading the
MIAC's overall statistics for the third straight year in both goals and points, setting Augsburg single-season records with 21 goals and 53 points in 1,582 minutes played (75.3 minutes per-game). Her 11 assists were second-most among MIAC players and tied for the fifth-most in a single season in school history. She had a goal or assist in 16 of Augsburg's 21 games, with the Auggies 13-3-0 in those contests.
Among NCAA Division III players nationally (as of Nov. 11), St. Aubin stands ninth in total points, 16th in total goals and 20th in total assists, with her nine game-winning goals tied for fourth.
A United Soccer Coaches Division III All-America second-team honoree last year, St. Aubin earned MIAC Athlete of the Week honors four times this season. She has earned United Soccer Coaches All-North Region honors in each of her first two seasons, was named the MIAC's Offensive Player of the Year in 2017 and the MIAC Rookie of the Year in 2016.
In addition to her single-season school records, St. Aubin also set Augsburg's career records for both goals (53) and points (128) this season, while her 22 career assists are now seventh-most. She has scored at least one goal in 40 games in her 62-game career, and the Auggies are 37-2-1 when she scores a goal.

Olson and Johnston were mainstays on an Augsburg defense that continued its reputation as one of the best in the conference. Augsburg allowed just 21 goals this season, tied for the
fifth-fewest goals by MIAC teams, with its 1.00 team goals against-average third-best in the conference. Augsburg recorded 11 shutouts in its 21 games, tied for the most in the MIAC.
Olson started all 21 games and played in a team-high 1,735 of the team's 1,871 minutes (92.7 percent of total minutes, 82.6 minutes per-game) this season. She was the top scorer among defenders on the team, finishing with three goals and an assist for seven points, including a game-winning goal in Augsburg's 2-0 win at St. Olaf on Oct. 27. In her 54-game Auggie career, Olson now has five goals and an assist for 11 points, including two game-winning goals.
Encarnacion and Wiskofske joined St. Aubin to provide one of the best offenses in the conference, as the three combined for 36 of Augsburg's 47 goals. Augsburg's 47 goals and 2.24 goals per-game average were both
third-best among MIAC teams in 2018.

Encarnacion, who transferred to Augsburg last year after playing her first season at St. Mary's (Maryland), had a career year in 2018, scoring eight goals with three assists for 19 points in 1,539 minutes played (73.3 minutes per-game). She had a goal or assist in nine games this season, with the Auggies going 8-1-0 in those games.
In her two seasons at Augsburg (39 games), Encarnacion now has nine goals and four assists for 22 points, including three game-winning goals. In her overall collegiate career (57 games), she has 13 goals with seven assists for 33 points, with five game-winning goals.

Wiskofske started her Auggie career as a goalkeeper, but moved into a forward role her final three years and became a scoring force. This year, she finished with six goals and six assists for 18 points in 1,406 minutes played (67.0 minutes per-game), with one game-winning goal. She had a goal or assist in 11 games, including the final four games in a row, this season, with the Auggies 10-1-0 in those contests.
In her 49 games in her Augsburg career, Wiskosfke finished with 11 goals and 11 assists for 33 points, with three game-winning goals.

Johnston was named to the All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team, as part of the conference's sportsmanship initiative. Members of the All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team are selected by their coaches and teammates as individuals who demonstrate ideals of positive sportsmanship both on and off the field of competition.
A four-year veteran on the Augsburg defense, Johnston recorded an assist in a career-best 1,389 minutes played (69.5 minutes per-game) in 20 games this season. She played in 63 games in her Auggie career, with a goal and an assist to her credit.
