WINONA, Minn. -- Surrendering a goal 28 seconds into the game, the Augsburg University men's hockey team rallied with four unanswered goals to claim a 4-1 victory over host Saint Mary's University in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game on Saturday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• For the second straight night, Augsburg had to rally from an early deficit to claim the win and the series sweep of Saint Mary's. Four different Auggies scored goals, and eight different Auggies figured in the scoring.

John O'Connor (JR, Moorhead, Minn./Moorhead HS) tied the game at 1-1 with a power-play goal at the 15:01 mark of the second period, assisted by
Tommy Carey (SO, Moorhead, Minn./Moorhead HS) and
Chandler Madry (SR, Bakersfield, Calif./Faribanks (Alaska) BEST HS).
• Augsburg scored three goals in the final period, starting with an unassisted goal by
Matt Hines (FY, Minnetonka, Minn./Hopkins HS) at the 2:18 mark, his first collegiate goal.

Austin Dollimer (FY, Rosemount, Minn./Rosemount HS) gave the Auggies a 3-1 lead at the 12:09 mark, assisted by
Austin Martinsen (SO, Farmington, Minn./Farmington HS) and
Lucas Niezelski (FY, Manchester, Minn./East Catholic HS).

Alex Rodriguez (SR, Miami, Fla./Shattuck-St. Mary's (Minn.) HS) capped the scoring with his team-leading ninth goal of the season, assisted by Madry, with 1:40 remaining in the game.
• Saint Mary's claimed a 29-25 advantage in shots on-goal, but Auggie goalie
Nick Schmit (SR, Fargo, N.D./Fargo North HS) stood firm after giving up a goal on the first shot of the game. Schmit stopped the remaining 28 shots he faced to improve to 3-0-0 on the season.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• Rodriguez's nine goals put him second
among MIAC players in overall goals. His 12 points are tied for third-most among MIAC players.
• Thirteen different Auggies have now scored goals this season, and 17 different Auggies have figured in the scoring with goals or assists.
• Augsburg has outscored its opponents by a 28-14 margin. Augsburg's 28 goals scored are tops among MIAC teams, while its 14 goals allowed are fewest in the MIAC.
