Chandler Madry (SR, Bakersfield, Calif./Faribanks (Alaska) BEST HS) claimed his first career multi-goal game in an Augsburg University uniform, scoring twice to lead the Auggies to a 5-2 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men's hockey win at the University of St. Thomas on Friday night.

• The forward line of Madry,
Austin Martinsen (SO, Farmington, Minn./Farmington HS) andÂ
Alex Rodriguez (SR, Miami, Fla./Shattuck-St. Mary's (Minn.) HS) accounted for three of Augsburg's five goals in the game, with Madry scoring twice with an assist, Martinsen assisting on three goals and Rodriguez scoring a goal with an assist.
• Madry opened the scoring with a gol from Martinsen and Rodriguez at the 9:42 mark of the first period, followed late in the period by Rodriguez's 10th goal of the season, assisted by Madry and Martinsen.

Jake Larson (SR, St. Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville HS) scored from
Luke Dietsch (SR, St. Paul, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall HS) and
Austin Dollimer (FY, Rosemount, Minn./Rosemount HS) at the 13:50 mark of the second period.
• St. Thomas cut the lead to 3-2 with a goal late in the second period and another with 5:02 left in the third period, but Augsburg scored twice in the final 2:08 to secure the win. Madry scored from Martinsen at the 17:52 mark, and Dietsch scored an empty-net goal with nine seconds left, from
Eric Brenk (SR, Moorhead, Minn./Moorhead HS) and
Matt Nehls (SO, Boulder, Colo./D.C. West HS).

Nick Schmit (SR, Fargo, N.D./Fargo North HS) improved to 4-0-0 on the season with a 31-save effort, as the Tommies outshot the Auggies by a 33-25 margin in the game.

• Rodriguez's 10 goals put him second
among MIAC players in overall goals, and tied for third-most
among NCAA Division III players nationally. His 15 points are tied are third-most among MIAC players.
• Martinsen recorded his first collegiate multi-assist night with his three helpers.
• Madry stands fifth among MIAC players in points with 13, and his eight assists are tied for second-most, with teammate Carey, among MIAC players.
• Schmit's 0.95 goals against-average and .965 save percentage are both tops among MIAC goalies. Schmit leads all NCAA Division III goalies nationally in save percentage, and his GAA is second-best nationally.
