MINNEAPOLIS -- Behind the second career multi-goal game from Bridget Wagner (JR, Niles, Ill./Maine South HS), the Augsburg University women's hockey team completed a series sweep of Saint Mary's University with a 4-1 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference victory on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Wagner scored a pair of goals to lead the Auggies in the win. She opened the scoring with a power-play goal 14:20 into play, assisted by Ellie Tabaka (JR, Maplewood, Minn./Tartan HS) and Nikki Nightengale (JR, Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson HS). Wagner notched her fourth goal of the season on an even-strength marker at the 14:51 mark of the third period, assisted by Valerie Whichello (SR, Woodbury, Minn./East Ridge HS) and Jacie Hoehn (SR, Waseca, Minn./Kasson-Mantorville HS).
• For the second straight night, Augsburg held a big advantage in shots on-goal -- 33-20 on Saturday, 61-26 on the weekend -- and continued its strong play on special teams. The Auggies went 2-for-3 on the power play on Saturday, while killing off all six Cardinal power-play opportunities.
Mackenzie Molnar (JR, Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall HS) scored her fourth power-play goal of the season just 1:31 after Wagner's first goal, assisted by Nightengale.
Emily Ach (JR, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Park Center HS) gave the Auggies a 3-0 lead at the 5:47 mark of the second period, assisted by Tabaka.
McKenna Manalli (SR, Byron, Ill./Byron HS) stopped 19 of the 20 shots she faced to score the victory in goal, improving to 2-1-0 on the season.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• Augsburg has scored at least one power-play goal in five of its six games so far this season. The Auggies are 8-for-29 on the power play this season, with its 27.6-percent efficiency second-best among MIAC teams in overall statistics.
• Augsburg is the only MIAC team that has yet to give up an opponent power-play goal this season, killing off all 30 opponent opportunities so far. Augsburg is one of just five NCAA Division III teams to remain perfect on its penalty kills, and its 30 opponent power plays killed are the most among those five teams.
