MINNEAPOLIS --
Austin Dollimer (FY, Rosemount, Minn./Rosemount HS) claimed his first collegiate multi-goal game, and goalie
Nick Schmit (SR, Fargo, N.D./Fargo North HS) returned to the lineup with his third collegiate shutout, as the Augsburg University men's hockey team opened Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play with a 5-0 win over Bethel University on Friday evening at Ed Saugestad Rink.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Dollimer scored two goals in the victory, his second and third goals of his collegiate career. He scored a power-play goal at the 3:33 mark of the first period, then notched the final goal of the game at the 19:03 mark of the third period, assisted by
Luke Dietsch (SR, St. Paul, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall HS) and
Lucas Niezelski (FY, Manchester, Conn./East Catholic HS).
• Augsburg scored three goals in the opening 9:49 of play to take a commanding lead.
Charlie Parker (SO, Verona, Wis./Verona HS) put the Auggies on the board 1:58 into play, assisted by
Gunnar Goodmanson (SO, Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo HS). Dollimer gave the Auggies a 2-0 lead with his power-play goal, assisted by
Alex Rodriguez (SR, Miami, Fla./Shattuck-St. Mary's (Minn.) HS) and
Tommy Carey (SO, Moorhead, Minn./Moorhead HS), and
Austin Martinsen (SO, Farmington, Minn./Farmington HS) gave the Auggies a 3-0 lead with his first goal of the year, assisted by Dietsch and
Patrick O'Connor (FY, Moorhead, Minn./Moorhead HS).
• Dietsch had a goal and two assists for the Auggies, giving the Auggies a 4-0 lead with a goal from Martinsen at the 10:11 mark of the second period.
• Returning to the nets after missing three games due to an injury suffered in the season-opener on Oct. 26, Schmit stopped all 27 shots he faced to pick up his first shutout of the season and third of his career.
• Augsburg outshot Bethel by a 30-27 margin in the game. Dietsch and Carey had four shots on-goal each for the Auggies.
FOR THE FOES
• Joe Sheppard had 25 saves in goal for Bethel.
• Michael Piehler and Will Reedy had four shots on-goal for the Royals.
