ST. JOSEPH, Minn. -- The Augsburg University women's basketball team fell 74-58 to a strong College of Saint Benedict squad in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Blazers jumped out to a quick 11-0 lead, but Augsburg countered with a 12-2 run of its own to get right back in the mix. Augsburg's
Arianna Jones (SO, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Osseo HS) hit a big three-pointer with one second left to cut the Blazer lead to 35-29 at the intermission. Saint Benedict slowly pulled away in in the second half to claim the win.
• Jones led the Augsburg offense with 15 points, shooting 6-for-8 from the field and 3-of-4 from three-point range. She added two assists and a steal on the afternoon.
• Also finishing in double figures for the Auggies was
Tamira McLemore (SO, Eagan, Minn./Eagan HS) and
Bridget Bednar (SR, Pierz, Minn./Pierz HS). McLemore added 12 points and a pair of rebounds, while Bednar finished with 11 points and three rebounds.

Camryn Speese (SO, Bloomington, Minn./DeLaSalle HS) and
Jazmyn Solseth (FY, Inver Grove Heights, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran HS) led Augsburg with four rebounds apiece, while Speese chipped in eight points and Solseth added five.
• For the game, Augsburg shot 42.0 percent (21-of-50) from the field, while the Blazers hit 51.9 percent (28-of-54) of their shot attempts.
• This was the first time this season that Augsburg shot better than 41 percent from the field and was not able to pull out the win.
FOR THE FOES
• Saint Benedict was led by a 22-point, seven-rebound effort from Niki Fokken.
• Megan Thompson and Kate Banovetz added 18 and 10 points respectively.
• The Blazers claimed a 37-22 advantage on the boards.
