MINNEAPOLIS -- Behind two first-period goals by
Mackenzie Molnar (SO, Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall HS), the Augsburg University women's hockey team scored a 2-2, overtime tie with Concordia College-Moorhead in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's hockey action on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Molnar scored a power-play goal 6:03 into the game, then scored an even-strength goal at the 15:53 mark of the opening frame, claiming her first multi-goal game of her college career.

Megan Johnson (JR, Madison, Wis./Memorial HS) and
Valerie Whichello (JR, Woodbury, Minn./East Ridge HS) assisted on Molnar's first goal, while
Bridget Walter (JR, Princeton, Minn./Princeton HS) and
Mikayla Jones (SO, Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater HS) assisted on the second goal.
• Augsburg outshot Concordia by a 30-16 margin in the game, including a 3-1 advantage in overtime. Molnar had four shots on-goal in the game, while Whichello and
Kayla Murray (JR, Beaver Dam, Wis./Beaver Dam HS) had five shots each.

Rebecca Sonnek (SR, Edina, Minn./Edina HS) collected 14 saves in goal for the Auggies.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• Augsburg is secured in the third spot in the five-team MIAC postseason playoffs, standing with 22 league points going into the final game of the regular season on Saturday. Concordia is next behind the Auggies in the standings with 16 points, two points ahead of both Bethel and Saint Mary's. Teams get two points for a win and one for a tie in the MIAC women's hockey table.
FOR THE FOES
• Concordia tied the game just 21 seconds after Molnar's opening goal, with Tori Davis scoring an unassisted goal. The Cobbers scored again at the 9:39 mark with another unassisted goal, this time by Josee Lundgren.
• Brittany Boss had 28 saves in goal for the Cobbers.
