MINNEAPOLIS -- With five different players scoring goals and eight players figuring in the scoring, the Augsburg University women's hockey team completed a series sweep of the College of Saint Benedict with a 5-2 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference triumph on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Late in the first period, Augsburg scored twice in a 2:51 span to take a lead it would not relinquish. Leading 3-2 after two periods, the Auggies scored twice in a 2:18 span late in the contest to produce the final margin of victory.

Megan Johnson (JR, Madison, Wis./Memorial HS) had a goal and an assist, whileÂ
Bridget Wagner (SO, Niles, Ill./Maine South HS) had two assists to lead the Auggies, who outshot Saint Benedict by a 55-14 margin in the game.

Mikayla Jones (SO, Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater HS) opened the scoring for the Auggies with her eighth goal of the campaign, assisted by Walter.
Jeanette Bealke (SO, White Bear Lake, Minn./White Bear Lake HS) gave the Auggies a 2-0 lead with a goal from Johnson at the 19:18 mark.

Valerie Whichello (JR, Woodbury, Minn./East Ridge HS) scored from
Bridget Walter (JR, Princeton, Minn./Princeton HS).
• Johnson matched Jones for the team's lead in goals scored with her eighth goal of the year, with an unassisted goal at the 15:17 mark of the final period.Â
Megan Robertson (SR, Boissevain, Manitoba/Boissevain HS) capped the scoring with a power-play goal, assisted by Wagner andÂ
Mackenzie Molnar (SO, Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall HS), at the 17:35 mark.
• Jones had 10 shots on-goal in the game for Augsburg, while Robertson had seven shots.

McKenna Manalli (JR, Byron, Ill./Byron HS) had 12 saves in goal to improve to 8-1-1 on the season.
FOR THE FOES
• Courtney Conlin scored a power-play goal from Kylie Eklund at the 1:13 mark of the second period, and Rylan Bistodeau scored from Riley Schneider at the 19:31 mark.
• Julia Carle had 50 saves in goal for Saint Benedict.
