TUCSON, Ariz. -- The Augsburg University baseball team claimed a split of a doubleheader with the University of Dubuque on Monday at the Tucson Invitational Games.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
• Making his first collegiate start after 12 appearances as a reliever last year,
Dayton Danielson (SO, St. Charles, Minn./St. Charles HS) pitched a complete-game victory for the Auggies, striking out seven while walking four and allowing just five hits and two unearned runs.
• Augsburg rallied from a 1-0, third-inning deficit to gain the win, scoring a run in the fifth and three more in the seventh.

Chris Steinhoff (SO, St. Paul, Minn./Como Park HS) drove in Augsburg's first run on a groundout in the fifth.Â

Joey Tschida (SO, Lakeville, Minn./St. Thomas Academy HS) hit an RBI double in the seventh, andÂ
Jordan DeCroock (SR, Farmington, Minn./Farmington HS) hit a two-run single with two outs to complete the Auggie scoring.

Donovan Tomony (SO, Madison, Wis./Madison East HS) had two hits each for the Auggies.
• Doug Van Dyke struck out four while not walking a batter in 6.1 innings of work for Dubuque.

• Dubuque jumped on Augsburg early, scoring three runs in the first inning, two runs in the second and three runs in the third.
• Augsburg was limited to six hits in the game, with a double by
Keane Turner (SR, Clinton, Minn./Clinton-Graceville-Beardsville HS), and singles by DeCroock, Tomony,
Clayton Bodine (JR, Plymouth, Minn./Wayzata HS),
