MONMOUTH, Ill. -- Behind six goals from
Helena Nguyen (SR, Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove HS) and a second straight seven-point performance by
Izzy Snow (JR, Golden Valley, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong HS), the Augsburg University women's lacrosse team claimed a 16-3 Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference victory at Monmouth College on Sunday morning.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg led for all but the opening 55 seconds of play. The Auggies scored the first five goals of the game and took an 11-3 halftime advantage. Augsburg outshot Monmouth by a 21-8 margin in the first half, extending the advantage to 32-14 at game's end.
• For the seventh time this season, Nguyen recorded four-plus goals in a game, with her six goals just one shy of tying the single-game school record. Her team-high 44 goals, a school single-season record, are second-most
among MWLC players in overall statistics, while her 49 points are fifth-most.
• Snow scored five goals with two assists, tying her career-high for points with seven. She also had five ground balls, four draw controls and three caused turnovers. Snow currently stands second in the MWLC in overall points with 54, a single-season school record, with her 36 goals tied for fifth-most in the league and her 18 assists, also a single-season school record, second-most.

Allie Tuccitto (FY, Rosemount, Minn./Eastview HS) scored a season-high three goals for the Auggies, while
Mikayla Jones (SO, Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater HS) and
Delaney Everett (SR, Brooklyn Center, Minn./Champlin Park HS) each scored a goal. Jones added an assist, and Everett added two ground balls, two caused turnovers and a draw control.

Christina Nelson (JR, Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson HS) reached the double-digit mark in draw controls for the third time this season, adding four ground balls and four caused turnovers. Nelson now leads the MWLC with 77 draw controls, while she is tied for fourth with 34 caused turnovers. Citaly Escobar (FY, New Brighton, Minn./Irondale HS) contributed four ground balls and a caused turnovers.
• Goalie
Marissa Guillou (SR, Burnsville, Minn./Apple Valley HS) and Maddie Sykora (FY, Owatonna, Minn./Owatonna HS) split time in goal for the Auggies, with Guillou playing the first 52 minutes and Sykora finishing the final eight minutes.
• Augsburg dominated play, claiming 15 ground balls to Monmouth's five and collecting 20 ground balls to Monmouth's 11. The Auggies also had 16-of-19 successful clears, compared to 15-of-26 for the Fighting Scots.
FOR THE FOES
• Kara-Jade Gordon, the MWLC's leader in both goals (49) and points (59), scored all three goals for Monmouth, adding three draw controls, two ground balls and a caused turnover.
• Liz Reasoner had six saves in 22 minutes of action, with Kaitlin Korf adding eight saves in relief.
