Samantha Anderson (JR, Coon Rapids, Minn./Coon Rapids HS) went 4-for-5 with five RBI in the doubleheader, and
Shannon Dale (SO, Watertown, Minn./Watertown-Mayer HS) stroked her first collegiate home run, leading the Augsburg University softball team in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader split with Bethel University on Saturday afternoon.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
• Augsburg used a three-run fifth inning to break a 2-2 tie, but Bethel scored five runs in the top of the sixth, sending nine batters to the plate, to take the lead for good.
• Back-to-back RBI doubles by
Morgan Malley (JR, Harmony, Minn./Fillmore Central HS) and
Katie Parker (SR, Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville North HS), along with an RBI groundout by
Jacquline Nichols (JR, Royalton, Minn./Royalton HS), accounted for Augsburg's runs in the fifth inning.

Anesia King (SO, Cambridge, Minn./Cambridge-Isanti HS) singled, moved to second on a wild pitch, and later scored on an RBI groundout by Parker in the first inning, and King singled, moved to third on a pair of groundouts, and scored on a single by Anderson in the third.
• Anderson pitched a complete game for the Auggies, her ninth of the season in 10 starts, striking out one while walking one.
• King, Anderson and Parker had two hits each for the Auggies in the first game.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
• Augsburg scored six runs in both the third and fourth innings to end the game early via the NCAA's eight-run rule after five innings. Augsburg sent nine batters to the plate and scored on three hits and two errors in the third, then sent 10 batters to the plate and scored on five hits in the fourth.
• Trailing 1-0 entering the third inning, Augsburg took a 2-1 lead on a two-run single by Anderson, and after an RBI single by
Nell Gehrke (SO, Northfield, Minn./Northfield HS), Dale blasted a three-run homer to right field to give the Auggies a 6-1 advantage. The homer was the first of Dale's collegiate career, and was her fourth extra-base hit this season.

Carly Dropik (JR, Alexandria, Minn./Alexandria HS) doubled to lead off the fourth inning, and came around to score on an RBI single by Parker. Anderson hit a two-run double, Dale plated a run on a bases-loaded walk, and
Taylor Mattice (SR, Woodbury, Minn./Centennial HS) hit a two-run single to cap the scoring.
• Anderson and Gehrke had two hits each, with each driving in four runs while scoring twice. Gehrke went 2-for-3 with two runs scored, and Nichols and Dropik scored two runs each.
• Malley gained the pitching win in the circle, striking out two while walking two and allowing just four hits. She had to throw just 66 pitches -- 43 strikes -- to pick up the win.
FOR THE FOES
• Jana Roste hit a three-run homer in the sixth inning of the first game, while Megan Bode led off the third inning with a solo homer. Roste had three hits in the doubleheader, as did Mariah uphoff. Uphoff and Bode scored two runs each.
• Allie Fauth hit a double and triple in the doubleheader, while Wendy Roberts had a double among her two hits.
UP NEXT
• Augsburg faces Macalester in a conference doubleheader on Sunday (4/8) at 4:30 p.m. at Edor Nelson Field. Macalester will be the designated "home" team in the doubleheader, which was moved from Macalester to Augsburg's dome due to winter weather conditions.
• Bethel will face Concordia in a MIAC doubleheader on Sunday at 8 a.m. at the Dundas (Minn.) Dome.
