Auggies dominate in win over Concordia Chicago

MINNEAPOLIS -- Dominating in virtually every facet of the game, the Augsburg University women's lacrosse team claimed its fifth straight win with a 14-2 triumph over Concordia University Chicago in a Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference game on Sunday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg controlled the pace of play and never relented against Concordia Chicago to remain unbeaten in league play. The Auggies outshot the Cougars by a 31-13 margin, converted an incredible 20 clearing attempts in 21 opportunities, and had 11 draw controls to the Cougars' seven.
• Augsburg also took advantage of its opportunities deep in the Concordia end, scoring goals on 8-of-13 free-position shots. Concordia did not score on four free-position shots.
• Delaney Everett (SR, Brooklyn Center, Minn./Champlin Park HS) scored a season-high four goals on six shots, adding an assist for a five-point night. She also had four draw controls, three caused turnovers and two ground balls.
• Helena Nguyen (SR, Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove HS), who has scored at least one goal in every one of Augsburg's nine games this season, scored four goals, including three on five free-position shots. Nguyen currently is tied for third in the MWLC's overall statistics in goals (31) and tied for fifth in points (35), while her 10 free-position goals are tied for the most in the MWLC.
• Ellie Tabaka (FY, Maplewood, Minn./Tartan HS) scored a goal with an assist, adding a caused turnover and a ground ball.
• Christina Nelson (JR, Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson HS) collected seven draw controls, while adding three ground balls and three caused turnovers. Her 47 draw controls this season are now fifth-most among MWLC players.
• Izzy Snow (JR, Golden Valley, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong HS), Mikayla Jones (SO, Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater HS), Tehya Reinbold (FY, St. Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville HS), Demey Everett (SO, Brooklyn Center, Minn./Champlin Park HS) and McKenna Ellena (FY, Wales, Wis./Kettle Moraine HS) also scored goals for the Auggies, and Allie Tuccitto (FY, Rosemount, Minn./Eastview HS) had two assists. 
• Annika Hegrenes (SO, Maplewood, Minn./Concordia Academy HS) contributed three ground balls and three draw controls.
• Goalie Marissa Guillou (SR, Burnsville, Minn./Apple Valley HS) had three saves in 43 minutes of action, with Maddie Seykora (FY, Owatonna, Minn./Owatonna HS) playing the final 17 minutes.

FOR THE FOES
• Sydney Fuller scored a goal with an assist for Concordia Chicago, with Margaret Doane adding the other Cougar goal.
• Fuller added four caused turnovers, four ground balls and four draw controls, while Anna Kellar had three draw controls. Hannah Johnson had three ground balls and two caused turnovers.
• Krystal Phillips had 14 saves in goal for the Cougars.
