Second-half outburst lifts Augsburg to 6-0 win

WINONA, Minn. -- Scoring five goals in the second half, including four goals in an 8:40 span, the Augsburg University women's soccer team claimed a 6-0 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference triumph over host Saint Mary's University on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Leading 1-0 at halftime after an Ashley St. Aubin (JR, Burnsville, Minn./Burnsville HS) goal in the ninth minute, the Auggies exploded with five goals in the first 24 minutes of the second half to score the convincing MIAC win. St. Aubin scored a second-half goal to give her a two-goal night, and Jessy Wiskofske (SR, Wausau, Wis./Wausau West HS) scored twice in the second half. St. Aubin also had an assist in the game.
• Gabriela Encarnacion (JR, Bel Air, Md./Bel Air HS) scored a goal with an assist, and Olivia House (JR, Richfield, Minn./Richfield HS) capped the scoring for the Auggies in the 69th minute.
• Callie Athey (SO, Eagan, Minn./Burnsville HS), Kealie Espinda Banick (SR, Apple Valley, Minn./Eastview HS), Kate Johnston (SR, Missoula, Mont./Hellgate HS), Niki Ryan (SO, Minneapolis, Minn./Washburn HS) and Marya Schuelke (FY, Mounds View, Minn./Mounds View HS) had assists for the Auggies in the win.
• Augsburg outshot Saint Mary's by a 28-9 margin -- scoring five goals on its nine second-half shots. The Auggies also had six corner kicks to the Cardinals' three.
• Augsburg goalkeeper Emily Chapman (JR, Elburn, Ill./Kaneland HS) had four saves in 70 minutes, with Sabrina Shaw (SO, Blaine, Minn./Blaine HS) playing the final 20 minutes in her first collegiate action in goal.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• The six goals were the most scored by Augsburg since a 6-1 win at Northwestern-St. Paul on Sept. 6, 2017, and the most goals Augsburg has scored against an MIAC opponent since a 6-0 win at Hamline on Oct. 24, 2009.
• St. Aubin now has nine goals on the season, leading the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in overall goals. She is tied for the league lead in points with 20.
