MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- The Augsburg University volleyball team used a balanced offensive attack to pick up a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference victory in a sweep over St. Catherine University on Wednesday night at Si Melby Hall.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Auggies put together a solid team effort -- claiming their third MIAC victory and sixth win in a row -- with its fifth straight three-set sweep. Augsburg's hitting percentage improved with every set, ending with a .469 clip in the third set, rounding out at a .273 percentage for the match. Defensively, the Auggies were solid with 66 digs and eight team blocks, while holding the Wildcats to a .035 hitting percentage.

Megan Quam (JR, Kenyon, Minn./Kenyon-Wanamingo HS) led all players with 11 kills, while chipping in four digs and a block assist.
Kayla Gjerde (FY, Afton, Minn./Stillwater HS) and
Corrina Evans (SO, Blaine, Minn./Blaine HS) had eight kills each. Gjerde added four digs, three block assists and an assist. Evans had a season-high seven block assists, along with a dig.
• Setter
Morgan Malley (SR, Harmony, Minn./Fillmore Central HS) had an impressive showing with 35 assists, eight digs, three block assists, three aces and five kills -- hitting at a .455 clip.

Macey Terhell (SR, Osceola, Wis./Osceola HS) claimed a match-high dig total with 19, while adding five assists, two aces and a kill.

Jade Boysen (FY, Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS) had six kills, and
Lexie Lang (FY, Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS) added 14 digs.
FOR THE FOES
• Brooke Beuning and Meagan Schwarzrock split the setting duties and ended with nine and ten assists respectively.
• Emma Nelson led the Wildcats with 12 digs, while Bryana Leverentz had a team-high five kills.
UP NEXT
• Augsburg returns to action on Friday (9/28) at 5 p.m, when the Auggies travel take on the University of Northwestern-St. Paul in a nonconference match.
