Auggies score 7th straight win, 6th straight sweep

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The Augsburg University volleyball team's winning streak reached seven straight matches on Friday night with its sixth straight three-set sweep, scoring a win over the University of Northwestern-St. Paul at the Ericksen Center.

RECORDS: Augsburg 15-2 overall, Northwestern-St. Paul 14-5 overall 

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg was able to keep Northwestern-St. Paul out of rhythm in the straight-set win. Augsburg hit .252 in the match, while holding Northwestern to a .041 attack percentage. The Auggies also held a 10-0 block advantage and a 45-26 kill advantage over the Eagles. 
• The Augsburg offense was led by the duo of Corrina Evans (SO, Blaine, Minn./Blaine HS) and Megan Quam (JR, Kenyon, Minn./Kenyon-Wanamingo HS), who finished with 11 and 10 kills respectively. Evans and Jade Boysen (FY, Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS) led the Auggies with four block assists each, while Quam also had four blocks (one solo). 
Sydnie Zachary (JR, Apple Valley, Minn./Bloomington Jefferson HS) had nine kills and nine digs, adding two blocks and two aces. 
• Posting her eighth dig-assist double-double of the season, Morgan Malley (SR, Harmony, Minn./Fillmore Central HS) had 33 assists and 14 digs. Malley also tallied five kills and two block assists. 
Macey Terhell (SR, Osceola, Wis./Osceola HS) had a team-best 22 digs, also contributing four assists and a kill. Kayla Gjerde (FY, Afton, Minn./Stillwater HS) finished with seven digs, four kills, two blocks (one solo) and an assist. 

FOR THE FOES
• The Eagles attack was led by Mariah Halvorsen, who finished with nine kills, while adding 12 digs and two aces. 
• Freya Hanson had a strong performance for Northwestern, anchoring the defense with 26 digs.

• Augsburg returns to action on Saturday (9/29) at 3 p.m, when the Auggies travel to St. Paul to take on Hamline University in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action.
