ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Reaching its best start to a season since 2013, the Augsburg University volleyball team improved to 16-2 overall with its eighth straight win, a four-set triumph at Hamline University on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Corrina Evans (SO, Blaine, Minn./Blaine HS) had an impressive performance in the middle, tying a season-high with 14 kills on .407 hitting (three errors in 27 swings), her sixth time hitting .400 or better this season. She also had two block assists.

Jade Boysen (FY, Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS) also dominated, tying a season-high with eight blocks (one solo), while recording a season-high 10 kills on a .381 attack percentage. Boysen has claimed at least one block in 16 of her 17 matches this season.
• After splitting the first two sets, Augsburg dominated the final two, hitting .258 (13 kills, five errors in 31 attempts) in the third set and .424 (15 kills, one error in 33 attempts). The Auggies limited the Pipers to just an .026 attack percentage, and converted 10 team blocks, the team's sixth match with double-digit team block totals this season.

Morgan Malley (SR, Harmony, Minn./Fillmore Central HS) claimed her ninth assist-dig double-double of the season, with 42 assists and 17 digs -- both season-bests. She added three kills and two block assists.

Sydnie Zachary (JR, Apple Valley, Minn./Bloomington Jefferson HS) had 11 kills, to go along with six digs and four block assists, andÂ
Megan Quam (JR, Kenyon, Minn./Kenyon-Wanamingo HS) had seven kills with two block assists.

Macey Terhell (SR, Osceola, Wis./Osceola HS) recorded 33 digs, and
Lexie Lang (FY, Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS) had a season-high five service aces. Ciashia "Cookii" Shiongjay (SO, St. Paul, Minn./Johnson HS) added three service aces.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• Augsburg's 16-2 record is its best after 18 games since the 2013 season, when the Auggies started 16-2 and had a 19-match winning streak. Augsburg finished 29-5 that season, sharing the MIAC regular-season title and reaching the NCAA Division III national playoffs.Â
FOR THE FOES
• Morgen Coleman had 10 kills, four service aces and nine digs, to lead the Pipers.
• Megan Rubbelke had 29 assists and 12 digs.Â
