MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- The Augsburg University volleyball team went 1-1 at its Augsburg Invitational on Friday, topping Wisconsin-Eau Claire while falling to Cornell College (Iowa).Â

HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST UW-EAU CLAIRE
• The Auggies started off strong, winning the first set, but then dropped the second set to the Blugolds. Augsburg was able to take care of business against a tough Blugold team, winning the third and fourth sets.Â
• Offensively, three Auggies posted double-digit kills, led by 15 fromÂ
Sydnie Zachary (JR, Apple Valley, Minn./Bloomington Jefferson HS), who had a double-double with 20 digs.Â
Kayla Gjerde (FY, Afton, Minn./Stillwater HS) andÂ
Corrina Evans (SO, Blaine, Minn./Blaine HS) added 14 and 11 kills each.Â

Morgan Malley (SR, Harmony, Minn./Fillmore Central HS) posted a season-high 41 assists, and added four kills, three aces, four block assists and 13 digs.Â
• With a match-high 23 digs,Â
Macey Terhell (SR, Osceola, Wis./Osceola HS) led the way defensively for the Auggies. Terhell also had seven assists, two aces and a kill.
Jaelin Rios (JR, Champlin, Minn./Totino-Grace HS) added 10 digs.Â
• Adding eight kills, four digs, two block assists and an assist was
Megan Quam (JR, Kenyon, Minn./Kenyon-Wanamingo HS).Â
FOR THE FOES (UW-EAU CLAIRE)
• Three Blugolds -- Madelyn Pashibin, Kendra Baierl and Makenzie Bachmann -- posted double-digit kills. Bachmann added 19 digs.
• Madison Surprise picked up a match-best 53 assists, to go along with 14 digs and three kills.Â

HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST CORNELL
• Augsburg's offense struggled against a tough Cornell squad, hitting at just a.120 clip. Despite winning the second set, the Auggies weren't able to surpass the Rams in back-and-forth action, losing in four sets.Â
• The Auggies played well defensively and held a 10-3 advantage in team blocks.Â

Corrina Evans (SO, Blaine, Minn./Blaine HS) both had six block assists.
• Seniors
Morgan Malley (SR, Harmony, Minn./Fillmore Central HS) andÂ

Izzy Barr (FY, River Falls, Wis./River Falls HS) notched 11 assists and four digs.Â

Corrina Evans (SO, Blaine, Minn./Blaine HS) led the Auggies with 10 kills, while adding two block assists and a dig.
Ellie Schwartz (JR, Woodbury, Minn./Hill-Murray HS) had a team-best .429 hitting percentage with 8 kills.Â
FOR THE FOES (CORNELL)
• Nicole Ciari had a match-best 18 kills, while Alissa McEndaffer had 16 kills and Allison Eikenberry had 12. Jillian Schulte notched 51 out of 55 assists for the Rams.Â
• The Rams' defense was very strong having four players with double-digit digs.Â
