MINNEAPOLIS -- The Augsburg University women's basketball team held the No. 4 ranked University of St .Thomas to its second lowest offensive output of the season, but struggled on its own offensive end of the ball and suffered its first Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference loss of the season, falling 49-34 on Saturday afternoon at Si Melby Hall.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Augsburg defense kept St. Thomas out of its normal offensive rhythm all afternoon. The Auggies held the high-powered Tommie offense, which came into the game with a MIAC leading 73.3 points per-game scoring average, under 50 points for just the second time this season. Augsburg forced 22 St. Thomas turnovers, the most the Tommies have committed since their first game of the season.
• Unfortunately for the Auggies, the Tommie defense also kept Augsburg out if its offensive rhythm. The Auggies were held to a season-low 23.5 percent (12-of-51) shooting from the field and a season-low 16.7 percent (3-of-18) from three-point range.

Tamira McLemore (JR, Eagan, Minn./Eagan HS) led Augsburg with seven points and five rebounds, while adding an assist and a steal.

Camille McCoy (SR, Brooklyn Park, Minn.) added six points for the Auggies, shooting 2-for-4 from the field and adding a rebound and a steal.
• Also playing well for the Auggies was
Kaezha Wubben (JR, Minneapolis, Minn./Hopkins HS), who finished with five points and five boards, while adding two assists and a pair of steals.
FOR THE FOES
• St. Thomas was led by Kaia Porter, who finished with 11 points and eight rebounds to go along with a pair of assists.
• Hannah Spaulding added 10 points and nine rebounds for the Tommies.
