ST. PETER, Minn. -- Snapping an 18-game road losing streak and claiming its first win at Gustavus Adolphus College since 2000, the Augsburg University women's hockey team scored a key 3-0 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference victory on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The win was the first for Augsburg at Gustavus since a 5-4 decision on Feb. 4, 2000 at the Don Roberts Ice Rink, snapping an 18-game losing streak to the Gusties on their home ice. Since Gustavus became a varsity program in the 1998-99 season, the Gusties lead the series with the Auggies by a 34-7-2 margin. The win was the third for the Auggies by shutout over the Gusties all-time.

Jeanette Bealke (JR, White Bear Lake, Minn./White Bear Lake HS) gave the Auggies an early lead, scoring just 1:58 into the game on an assist from
Bridget Walter (SR, Princeton, Minn./Princeton HS). The goal was Bealke's second of the season.
• Augsburg took a 2-0 lead with another early goal in the second period, as
Megan Johnson (SR, Madison, Wis./Memorial HS) scored her third goal of the season at the 2:28 mark, assisted by
Kalli Prekker (SO, Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove HS).
Mackenzie Molnar (JR, Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall HS) capped the scoring with an empty-net, shorthanded goal with 13 seconds left in the contest.

Annie Juergens (JR, Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial HS) had 21 saves in goal for the Auggies before being relieved with 8:08 left by
Abby Bollig (FY, Farmington, Minn./Farmington HS), who had two saves.
• Augsburg had a 27-23 advantage in shots on-goal in the game. Johnson had seven shots on-goal in the game.
FOR THE FOES
• Gustavus entered the game ranked No. 9 in both Division III national polls, by USCHO.com and D3hockey.com.
• Amanda DiNella had 24 saves in goal for the Gusties.
