MINNEAPOLIS -- Two goals with an extra attacker in the final 1:19 of regulation enabled the Augsburg University women's hockey team to tie the game at 2-2, eventually scoring an overtime tie with Gustavus Adolphus College in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game on Saturday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Trailing 2-0, Augsburg pulled goalie
Abby Bollig (FY, Farmington, Minn./Farmington HS) for an extra attacker with 2:49 left in the third period.
Nikki Nightengale (JR, Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson HS) then scored her team-leading ninth goal of the season with 1:19 left to cut the Gustie lead to 2-1.
• Thirty-seven seconds later, the Auggies tied the game, as
Bridget Wagner (JR, Niles, Ill./Maine South HS) scored her seventh goal of the season, taking a shot from the slot off assists by
Ellie Tabaka (JR, Maplewood, Minn./Tartan HS) and
Megan Johnson (SR, Madison, Wis./Memorial HS).
• Augsburg outshot Gustavus by a 4-1 margin in overtime, despite taking a penalty with 50 seconds left in the extra session. The Auggies claimed a 25-20 shots on-goal advantage in the game.
• Making her first collegiate start and just her third appearance in goal, Bollig collected 18 saves, including the last 14 shots she faced in the second period, third period and overtime.
• Wagner had four shots on-goal in the game, while Nightengale and
Jacie Hoehn (SR, Waseca, Minn./Kasson-Mantorville HS) had three shots each.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• It marks the first time that Augsburg has ever taken three of four points, with a win and tie, in a MIAC regular-season series with Gustavus in both teams' varsity histories (Augsburg since 1995-96, Gustavus since 1998-99). Augsburg has only swept the Gusties once in a series, an MIAC playoff championship two-game series March 10-11, 2000 at Augsburg. Augsburg has split MIAC regular-season series four times with the Gusties. Gustavus leads the all-time varsity series 34-7-2.
• Gustavus entered the game ranked No. 9 in both Division III national polls, by USCHO.com and D3hockey.com. Augsburg was receiving votes in the USCHO.com poll.
• Both teams were 0-for-3 on the power play in the game. Augsburg has allowed just six goals on 62 opponent power plays this season, with its .903 penalty-kill percentage second-best
among MIAC teams in overall statistics and 14th-best
among NCAA Division III teams nationally.
FOR THE FOES
• Amelia Vosen scored an unassisted goal for Gustavus at the 5:02 mark of the first period, followed by a goal at the 16:02 mark from Lillia Scheid, assisted by Erin Moes.
• Amanda DiNella had 23 saves in goal for the Gusties.
