NORTHFIELD, Minn. -- Claiming his third hat trick of the season,
Alex Rodriguez (SR, Miami, Fla./Shattuck-St. Mary's (Minn.) HS) scored three of Augsburg University's four goals in a 4-1 win at St. Olaf College in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• After claiming hat tricks in back-to-back games to open the season, Rodriguez claimed his fourth multi-goal game of the season and sixth in his two years as an Auggie. Rodriguez now has 16 goals on the season,
leading the MIAC in overall goals and tied for
third-most among all NCAA Division III players nationally.
• Rodriguez opened the scoring just 49 seconds into the game, with a goal assisted by
John O'Connor (JR, Moorhead, Minn./Moorhead HS). He claimed his second goal of the game midway through the first period, assisted by
Tommy Carey (SO, Moorhead, Minn./Moorhead HS) and
Chandler Madry (SR, Bakersfield, Calif./Fairbanks (Alaska) BEST HS). Carey's 15 assists are tied for second-most among MIAC players.

Austin Dollimer (FY, Rosemount, Minn./Rosemount HS) gave the Auggies a 3-0 lead at the 12:16 mark of the second period, scoring his sixth goal of the year, assisted by
Eric Brenk (SR, Moorhead, Minn./Moorhead HS). Dollimer's six goals are tied for fourth-most among MIAC rookies this season.
• Rodriguez capped the scoring with a goal from
Luke Dietsch (SR, St. Paul, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall HS) and O'Connor at the 10:22 mark of the third period.
• Augsburg dominated offensively, outshooting St. Olaf by a 37-15 margin in the game -- 15-5 in the first period, 12-8 in the second and 10-2 in the third.

Nick Schmit (SR, Fargo, Minn./Fargo North HS) had 14 saves in goal for Augsburg, improving to 10-2-2 on the season.
