ST. PETER, Minn. -- The Augsburg University men's basketball team shot a season-best 64.0 percent from the field in a dominating 92-78 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference victory at Gustavus Adolphus College on Monday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg started the game on a 13-0 run and shot a blistering 69.0 percent (20-of-29) from the field in the first half, which included a 60.0 percent (9-of-15) effort from beyond the arc, and went into intermission leading 56-29. The Auggies used a 7-0 run to start the second half and the lead proved too much for the Gusties to overcome, as Augsburg picked up another important MIAC win.

Booker Coplin (JR, Shakopee, Minn./Shakopee HS) led Augsburg with a 21-point, 10-rebound double-double. This marks the fifth double-double of the season for Coplin and the 10th overall of his Auggie career. Coplin was 7-of-10 from the field and a perfect 6-for-6 from the free-throw line, to go along with three assists and a pair of steals. Coplin remains the MIAC scoring leader with a 24.6 points per-game average -- the only MIAC player averaging greater than 20 points per-game.

Henry Mulligan (JR, Iowa City, Iowa/Iowa City HS) scored 16 points on the night, adding two rebounds and two assists.

Kevin McKiernan (SR, Savage, Minn./Prior Lake HS) and
Martin Mitchell (JR, Apple Valley, Minn./Eastview HS) added 11 points apiece, while
Mark Della Vedova (SR, Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Simley HS) added 10 points and
Matt Carik (SO, Rogers, Minn./Rogers HS) chipped in nine points.
• After putting together its second-best shooting performance of the season in Saturday's (52.5 percent) win at St. Mary's, the Auggies topped that with a season-best 64.0 percent (32-of-50) shooting effort, while holding the Gusties to 47.4 percent (27-fo-57) shooting from the floor.
• Augsburg claimed a 28-27 advantage on the boards and a 38-28 advantage in point in the paint.
FOR THE FOES
• The Gusties finished with three players in double figures, led by a 15-point performance by Riley Sharbono, who finished the night 5-for-7 from the floor.
• Vannis Smith and Charlie Krambeer added 14 and 12 points respectively for Gustavus.
