HOW IT HAPPENED
• After a scoreless first 75 minutes of play, all the scoring took place in the last 15 minutes. St. Catherine was called for a handball in the penalty box at the 75:35 mark, and St. Aubin converted her second penalty kick of the season for her 11th goal of the campaign, firing the ball to the low left corner.
• Eight minutes later, the Auggies took a 2-0 lead.
Ana Ortiz (SO, Waterloo, Iowa/Columbus Catholic HS) worked the ball up the left wing and fed the ball to a centering St. Aubin, who found Ryan open on her right flank. Ryan walked in and slammed the ball home to the right side of the net for her second goal of the year.
• St. Catherine scored on a penalty kick goal with one second left in regulation time -- the Wildcats' second penalty-kick attempt of the game, after Augsburg goalkeeper
Emily Chapman (SR, Elburn, Ill./Kaneland HS) had successfully defended an attempt in the 52nd minute.
• Augsburg held a 9-8 advantage in shots in the game, with St. Aubin recording five shots. Chapman had five saves to pick up the victory in goal.

QUOTE FROM AUGSBURG COACH MIKE NAVARRE
• "We expected a physical and challenging game, and it was indeed. Overall, we managed the environment well. The referee called two penalty kicks against us and one for us. Fortunately, Chap came up big on their first attempt while Ashley was able to convert hers. Our second goal was well constructed by Ana, Ashley, and Niki. Niki showed great composure and finished it well. It turned out we needed it, as St Kate's finished their second PK in the final seconds. We have three MIAC games this week, all on the road. We will be playing Wednesday at Macalester with limited rest, so we'll likely need to play more players. Fortunately, we have a deep team. I'm excited about the opportunities this challenge provides."
